Sure we can eat pasta!. As long as there's no egg in the pasta, we're fine!. Most pastas, if you read the labels, have just flour and water!. The "veggie" pasta might have powdered vegetables, which are also fine!.

As for cereals, some are made with whey and/or honey!. Check the label to make sure the cereal you're buying has neither!.

I can't think of any granola bars right now, but Clif Bar and its associated lines--Luna Bar, Nectar--is VERY vegan friendly!. You might want to check them out!.

Come to think of it, checking the label is good no matter what you buy!. Always, always read the label!.

Besides food, cleansers, moisturizers and cosmetics can be made with animal ingredients--lanolin and beeswax are most common!. Beeswax and carmine (crushed cochineal beetles) are common in makeup!. But there are companies that make vegan products: J/A/S/ON, Natures Gate, Alba Botanica, Earth Science, Pangea Organics, Perfect Organics, and Lush, to name several!. Many vegan online retailers will have makeup from various companies!. Urban Decay and Hard Candy, both available at Sephora, have a good vegan selection!. Just go to the websites, and you can print out a list of their vegan items!. Both companies claim to be trying to reduce their use of animal ingredients--yay for them!

also, don't forget about household cleansers!! While many may not have animal ingredients, a lot of them are made by companies who test on animals--eek! Mrs!. Meyer's Clean Day and Seventh Generation are two companies who don't test on animals and don't use harsh chemicals!. Whole Foods and many natural foods stores will have a line of natural cleansers!. Just look for the Leaping Bunny symbol!.

Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

most pastas are acceptable, sure!.!.

Grains are fine!.

For the other stuff, you just have to check the ingredients

if you DON'T SEE"

Anything that sounds like meat, fat, or broth (as in Chicken Broth)
Gelatin
Lard
Rennet
Cassien
anything that ends in "Cassinate"
lactose
mono and dy-glycerides
Whey

anything that sounds like egg or dairy

Then it's probably fine!.!.

But read up on lists of little-known animal products!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I use Hodgson Mills noodles for pasta, some noodles DO have eggs in them so you have to be careful!. There are some health bars that are vegan such as Luna Bars which are good!. also for cereal, be careful of the ingredients, most health cereals are vegan but the "junk" cereals are not!. Kashi Go Lean have a couple vegan cereals, also you can make your own granola bars if you wanted to!.

Some make up DOES have animal byproducts in them and a lot are also tested on animals!. Almay and Revlon do not test on animals, personally for makeup I prefer BareMinerals because not only is in not tested on animals but, the makeup consists of minerals found in the earth and nothing else that way I know for sure that it is vegan friendly!. also, almost all dish soaps and laundry detergent are also tested on animals!. I like Seventh Generation products because they aren't tested on animals, they are all natural and vegan suitable!. Some shampoos such as Tresemme contain animal by products, Tresemme has gelatin in their shampoo!. also Barbara's Bakery has some good vegan cereals and fruit bars!. Some breads also have whey in them, Rudi's organic bakery has vegan bread!. All of their bread is vegan except for 4 kinds (Honey Sweet Whole Wheat, European Multigrain, Spelt Tortillas and Whole Spelt Tortillas)

All of the products that I have named should be available at your local grocery store!.

also stay away from Proctor and Gamble products- they test on animals!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Anything that doesn't have animal flavoring will do!. If you're going to cook pasta and the likes, check your tomato sauce, cause sometimes in the ingredients part there are like pork or beef flavoring or whatever!.

Aside from food, I don't think other products have animal essences in them!. But products like makeup(some) are tested on animals!. Don't support animal cruelty!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Many pastas are fine!. They also eat other grains, beans, nuts, seeds etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

We eat fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, herbs, spices, oils and everything made from them!.

By and large, dry pasta is semolina flour and water and is therefore vegan!. "Egg noodles" would obviously not be, and most fresh pastas you can buy in the supermarket have egg also!. You just need to read the labels on each item you buy!. That holds true for granola bars, cereals, bread!.!.!. basically everything!. You'd be surprised at how a prepared product can appear to be vegan, but have whey or egg whites hidden in there somewhere!.

If you really want to embrace veganism, you'll want to stop purchasing clothing made from leather, suede, wool, silk, fur, down or feathers!. You'll want to start sourcing makeup, toiletries, and other consumer goods that are made without animal ingredients or animal testing!. In my experience, this part of the transition from vegetarian was quite a bit more challenging than the food part!. I have just been sourcing new products one at a time as I run out of old products!. I think toothpaste was first, then shampoo, etc!.!.!. There are luckily now brands like Jason, Kiss My Face, Desert Essence Organics, Avalon Organics, Dr!. Bronner's, Nature's Gate and Tom's of Maine that are available in a lot of grocery and drug stores (many now have a "natural" section - look for it, then start reading labels - you should find products that say that they are made without animal ingredients!.)

There will be a lot that you'll just have to learn by trial and error along the way!. If you can find yourself a support system of other vegans to bounce ideas around with, it will be a whole lot easier!. The forums at http://www!.theppk!.com are good for that; the room called "The Closet" is all about brands of clothing, makeup, etc!.!.!. that are vegan-friendly!. Lots of great recipe and food ideas there, too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
