Is soy milk better for you than cows milk? Is tofu better for you than meat?!


Question: Is soy milk better for you than cows milk!? Is tofu better for you than meat!?
I just really don't know!. There seems to be a lot of controversy over this!. I like my soy lattes and Silk!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I wouldn't worry about soy milk!. It's very healthy for several reasons!. It has less saturated fat than cow's milk, and it is naturally rich in isoflavones!. Isoflavones are natural beneficial plant compounds that may help reduce cholesterol levels in the blood!. Soy is an excellent source of good quality protein, supplying ALL 8 Amino Acids!.

Tofu is a soy product that is incredibly versatile, it *can* be used to replace meat in dishes!. It has much less saturated fat than meat, and it is naturally free from cholesterol!. Tofu contains zinc, iron & protein!.

To my understanding, you get less fat in soy milk!. But studies have been showing your more likely to develop cancers with soy milk as well!. It might be better to try for 1 or 2% milk, or even fat free milk (it may taste like white water, but its better for you)!.

As far as tofu, it is better for you than meat!. But have you ever tried the stuff!? It has the consistency of refrigerated pudding, but the flavor of melted styrofoam!.

Maybe try adding more lean meats like turkey and fish; especially fish because it has Omega 3 fatty acids, which help with memory and other brain functions!. also add nuts and beans for protein!. Still healthy, but with far better taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think they're equal, both involving pros and cons!.

Keep buying whichever you prefer!. I imagine that soy milk is lacking the hormones and antibiotics that are found in traditional, processed milk!.

People will argue over the meat vs!. tofu!. They're both good sources of protein, but tofu is lacking the fat and some of the vitamins in meat!. Again, it's your personal preference!. What you don't get in one food, make up for it in something else by taking a quality multi-vitamin for example!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Soy milk is better tasting and better for you than cow's milk, which is meant for BABY COWS people, jeez!. Seriously, would you feed your breast milk to your dog!? Inter-species milk drinking is gross!.

If you don't like soy milk, try rice milk or almond milk!. (note: milk is a strange word !. !. !. I think the noun milk probably came after the verb, which means soy rice and almond are all technically still milk!. If it's the other way around they're probably not technically milk since they don't come from mammary glands!.)

Seriously, though!. Once I seriously thought about it, I couldn't drink cow milk anymore!.

Tofu and Meat are probably relatively equal, health wise, but environmentally and ethically, go TOFU!.

SOME soy milk lovers defend it by saying that we humans are the only living animals tht drink anothers milk!.!.and this can cause acne, heart problems, cancer and all other sorts of problems!. this may be true!.!.but i dont think many people are going 2 b opening a quart of cream and chugging it!. this isa bout what youd have 2 do to get the high consentration of appearently BAD things!. then there are the people that say soy milk is better because its not all bad fats, and it comes from plants therefore its better!.!.but to tell you the truth!. i cant stand the taste!. =)
people 4 milk say its a great source of calcium, protein, and can help you lose weight!. i just love it because its real!.!.and you can get skim to take away the fat!.

in the tofu subject!.!.i say just eat meat unless your vegitarian!. its a great source of iron and other nutrients !.!.and PROTEIN!. and as long as you dont eat it 4 every meal everyday i think youll be fine on the fat front!. As for tofu!.!.i cant say that i hate it, but id wayy rather have a great piece of meat!. It is healthier for people on a ristricted diet, and its a great source of protein for the amount of fat your getting!.

I think either in large quantities are bad for you!. Eating lots of meat has the obvious heart and digestion related problems and soya products may be carcinogenic if consumed in large quantities!.

Soy and tofu are certainly better for you than that disgusting concoction that is milk and the carcass of a murdered creature!.

it depends what you like!. tofu still has the protein and other stuff as meat but it does have all these chemicals in it to make it good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

they're about the same, companies put vitamins and protein in tofu and soy milk to make it a legit substitute for meat and milk!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
