PETA and hunting?!
First off, PETA!. Why do a lot of vegetarians and vegans dislike PETA!? Besides the fact that some people might be against their aggressive marketing strategy, aren't they still doing good by getting information out there about the truths of the meat and dairy industry, etc!. OR is it true that they're doing more bad than good!? Are they actually instead turning people OFF to vegetarianism because of their extreme ways of presenting things!? Is that why a lot of people don't like them!?
Secondly, hunting!. I happen to be in a band where a few of the members in my band apparently hunt every now and then!. Now they know I am vegan and they are actually really nice people!. They respect me and I respect them!. I try to look at it in the way of, "Ok they just don't know any better", "They were brought up that way", etc!. But one of the fans of our band was talking to me the other day and he said, "Yup, it's what we do, We hunt and it helps with overpopulation"!. Then I went and talked to one of my fellow workers in the restaurant I work at, and they called it something like "Game control"!. A lot of people have this weird view that they're helping the animals from being overpopulated (Deer, moose, etc !.)!. But isn't it just that they are overpopulating US!? And isn't that OUR fault because there are actually too many of US, and not too many of them!? I mean help me out here!.!.!.someone give me a link or something where someone has a strong argument for this whole game control thing, because I don't quite get it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've asked this question a billion times!. I live in Iowa, where the population of deer is completely out of control and I've heard this excuse from misguided hunters a billion times, so I researched it!. Hunters, for the most part, are looking for the trophy, they want the bucks with the big antlers!. They want to kill the big and strong, it makes them feel bigger and stronger!. In fact, Mother nature is even bigger and stronger!. Hunting actually contributes to the overpopulation and disease of deer!. If we let mother nature take care of it, she would weed out the old and sick, not the healthy and strong!. Therefore, hunting lets the weak and diseased live, to help increase the population of weak and diseased deer!. There are better methods out there (birth control and things), however, hunting licenses are a big revenue for cities, and we all know our government loves their taxes!. I know it's really sad, and we hate to see animals suffer but!.!.!.if they are hungry, they produce less, it's a scientific fact that nature takes care of itself, humans interfere way too much!.
As for PETA, I think of them like a political candidate!. I would totally vote for them, they stand for my beliefs BUT (and a really big but), I don't agree with all their stances, and I am sometimes embarrassed by my association with them!. The dairy and meat industry (with good reason) strongly dislike PETA and so, therefore, make up stories about them to make people hate PETA (always check sources)!Www@FoodAQ@Com

They are not misguided!. Hunting is normal and natural for predators like humans!.
Vegans seem to have this opinion that they are somehow more "evolved" than everyone else!. This is not the case!.Denying your basic nature and humanity does not make you in any way superior or better informed!.
Spend more time with your friends and have open discussions so they can educate you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I love killing animals!. That way they will not over populate the planet and eat us or the crap Vegans eat!.
Kill 'em and eat 'em!. Don't just leave 'em!.
Yes, if not for hunters, the deer would eat every weed on earth and the Vegans would starve because they would not fight a deer for the plants!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

PETA is a bunch of hypocrites who say hunters who kill and eat animals are evil, yet PETA was recently convicted of killing over 100 dogs and cats in North Carolina!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Watch this movie: "Your Mommy Kills Animals"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I just never understood why they wouldn't be in favor of hunting, really!. Nothing is more natural - animals are organic - they live on grass and sunshine - so one would think they would embrace such earthiness!.
Actually, about the population - there are actually families with fewer children now than there used to be!.
It's all about the circle of life - and the food chain!. We've messed it up enough, as it is!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Aye, I think the hunters are under the mistaken idea that they are helping with animal control: actually what happens is by hunting deer in the woods it drives the deer out of the woods and onto the highways!. You have more animal/car collisions during hunting season for that very reason!.
As for Peta, I have nothing against them, if I did, I wouldn't be a member!. Some of their stuff is a bit outrageous, I'll give you that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because PETA is crazy!. Animal liberation is crazy!. Animal experimentation saves lives!. Human lives!. Are you a diabetic!? Well, if a group of rabbits didn't die seventy years ago, you might not be alive because there'd be no insulin! PETA is just naive, and takes advantage of naive people!. They are based on the concept that animals are as smart as people!. When South Africa still had the apartheid, PETA was being formed to prevent the exploitation of polar bears in zoos!. If you support PETA, look a little bit more into it!. You'll be shocked!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
There have been people in North America for around ten thousand years, human hunters are as much a part of the ecosystem as any animal predators!. There are probably fewer animals taken by hunters now than in any time in the past several hundred years!. The decline in hunting is half the reason for animal overpopulation!.
Predatory species being exterminated purposely or through loss of habitat is the other half!.
Unless you want to exterminate humans re-introduce predators and return land to it's wild state hunting is the only viable way to keep animal population in check!. It has been demonstated in many areas that there will be mass starvation of deer if they are allowed to multiple without control and eat all the food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Most governments do very little to protect animals and deter cruelty to animals, so groups like PETA think that they need to take decisive action as that is better than no action!. They are correct in their ideas, but because they have no real centralized control, the members are left to their own methods of dealing with things and it often gets out of hand!.
As for hunters - if they didn't get any enjoyment out of killing animals then they wouldn't do it!. The overpopulation thing is just an excuse because normally they wouldn't care about that and only a small specialized interest group would be concerned with that aspect!. Believe me - killing is done for pleasure!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

First, you are presumptuous that PETA is telling he truth!. The "information" that PETA releases is self serving advertisement designed to promote itself!. That's why PETA now targets children (some as young as six years old) because adults have seen them for what they are!. For example, PETA denied owning shelters found killing healthy animals!. When it was pointed out that they themselves disclosed the number or animals killed (as part of government disclosure regulations), they then claimed that the animals were in poor health!. Then pictures of healthy animals killed were shown, PETA came up with excuse after another!. (check this website: www!.nokillnow!.com)That's the reality of what PETA is!. Karen Sweetfield is the head of PETA's anti animal testing campaign!. Yet she is a diabetic who uses insulin, a drug obtained and researched through animal testing!. Such hypocrisy is obvious to thinking adults so PETA now targets less experienced but very impressionable children!.
Hunting or food has been around long before the animal rights movement!. Probably, the only caveman who said "I think we should only eat vegetables " was either killed by his tribesmen for being so "stupid" or died of starvation during the winter when there no plants available but plenty of meat!. Certainly, many people do it for fun or the "trophy"!. But more do it because not only is it a part of their culture, it is also an economic necessity!. Even in rich western societies, not everyone can afford or subscribe to the idea of eating commercially slaughtered meat!. Much more so in parts of the world where supermarkets with shelves upon shelves of freshly picked and sorted out vegetables all conveniently packed are not available in every neighborhood!.as in the US and other more affluent countries
I hunt because I like the experience of it AND I like the flavor of wild game!. I do not keep trophies of slain animals in my house!. And no animal is ever wasted!. Even when my friends trophy hunt, the meat is distribute to other hunters, the guide or sometimes the local food shelter!. the people who would always speak against hunting are almost always people who have never seem other cultures or have ever hunted themselves!. Armchair experts and activists whose knowledge is largely based on what they read on the Internet from propaganda sites like PETAWww@FoodAQ@Com
