Answers:
Yes, being a vegetarian can have some wonderful benefits, as long as you do your homework first!. Many people go into the vegetarian diet not knowing how to change their normal eating habits!. There is a decreased risk of all sorts of diseases and even the FDA has mentioned that it does good!.

Read up on the diet on various websites!. http://www!.goveg!.com is an excellent resource in my opinion!.

The animal cruelty stuff is not just propaganda!. It's a reality!. With such a high demand for meat, producers try to make it as efficient as possible by packing in the animals and offering little care to their health needs in order to maximize profits!. Even the organic stuff isn't much better, because the standards for 'organic' are full of loopholes!.

My fiance is a vegetarian, and he eats a lot of soy products like soy milk and tofu!. He doesn't seem much changed because of it, he did lose about 20 pounds when he became a vegetarian, which is nice!.

If you're going to go vegan, then you will need some sort of Vitamin B12 supplementation (you can find that it many breakfast foods)!. Otherwise, no supplementation is necessary as long as you eat balanced!. I'm a lacto-vegetarian and the only supplements I get are those in fortified breakfast cereals!.

Good luck!. Yes, it's not as common for males to go vegetarian, but there are many out there!. And every girl knows a vegetarian man does care :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you want to be a vegetarian, speak with a doctor who can support you in that quest!.

You can also find some GREAT cookbooks - I like "The Passionate Vegetarian" by Crescent Dragonwagon, "Moosewood" by Mollie Katsen and "Highway to Health" by Lindsay Wagner!.

You need to be sure you're getting the correct nutrients, so consult with your doctor and do some reading to get started!.

There is animal cruelty in some factories and eating a vegetarian diet CAN be good for you but to be healthy you need to watch what you eat!.

Check out the soy controversy!. There's a lot of news about it!. We do some soy, but mostly stick with Rice Milk and use more beans in our diet than any other protein source!. Stick with as natural and unprocessed as possible!.

The other good news is that it's a less expensive way to eat!. Beans and rice, fruits and veggies!. It's a great time to do it too - lots of farmer's markets out there!

Vegetarianism is good for the planet too - read Will Tuttle's book "World Peace Diet" for more!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Any diet - vegetarian, vegan or a diet that includes meat - can be healthy or unhealthy, depending on the food eaten!.

It's up to you whether you take vitamins; if you eat a healthy diet you shouldn't need to!. I've been meat-free for decades without taking vitamins!.

Soy proteins contain isoflavones that can mimic a weak oestrogen effect!. It's not the same as the oestrogen the body makes - it is 1,000 times weaker than the body's oestrogen!.

There are other plants that contain oestrogen too!.

No reason why males shouldn't eat soy; it's hearsay rather than fact that it has any detrimental effect!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

As for whether being a vegetarian is good for you, you have to be sure to find an alternate source for the protein you will not be getting, that meat contains!. Some say soybeans are sufficient, but first, I don't know how many of them you would have to eat to make an equivalent amount of protein to an average serving of meat, second, I have heard soybeans contain more sodium than is good for you, and third, I don't know if you would like to eat them on a regular basis!. the lack of protein is the only real logical argument against being a vegetarian, but some people like meats too much to voluntarily give them up, so there's that to consider!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

heck yes its good for u!!!!
ya sure, everyone argues meat is good cuz it has protein---but do u know how much fat and calories meat has!?!!?
and no, that animal cruelty stuff is not fake!.
there's no "nice" or "good" way to kill an animal for eating
have u ever thought about how they kill the animals!?
well with chickens they put their beaks to a machine then break it off as if it were a walnut ur cracking!.!.!.!.
they basically slaughter cows and stuff!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
thats very inhumane!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. in my opinion,
i bet u could find a whole bunch of ppl that said they felt better after turning vegetarian!.!.!.!.!.!.seriously!. its not hard(for me) at all, because i just find the fact of eating an animal sick
an animal had to die just so i could have a meal!? no wayyy

u should ask ur doctor though!.!.!.!.!. he/she will tell u what u need and u need to make sure u get plenty of protein!.!.!.!.!. (eggs, milk!. cheese ect!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

-Meat is not bad for you!.
-a lot of the animal cruelty stuff is just propaganda!.

I don't eat meat because it's gross to me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes you can get your protein from soyWww@FoodAQ@Com

yes!.!.it is
?Www@FoodAQ@Com

any diet can be healthy or unhealthy if its not done right!.!.!.and the soy part is rubbish!.!.after all testosterone actually converts to estrogen when its broken down in the body but is quickly excreted!.!.!.and since soy contains such an insignificant amount it wont affect you in anywayWww@FoodAQ@Com
