Books and websites?!

Question: Books and websites!?
Are there any overnment approved websites, or books commonly accepted by doctors for vegetarian diets!? I need information on how to do that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
"(The New) Becoming Vegetarian" by Brenda Davis and Vesanto Melina is an excellent resource for vegetarian nutritional information!. Both are registered dietitians, meaning they have vastly more nutritional education than any doctor (most medical schools offer no more than a few hours of nutritional education, whereas registered dietitians have a graduate degree in it!.) As far as "government approved," I don't know why you'd want that exactly, given the government's track record with disseminating nutritional information and looking out for the best interests of its citizens (big food lobbies are just too powerful and their interests often trump ours!.) However, you could always visit the American Dietetic Association's website and check out their position paper on vegetarian and vegan diets; their conclusion is that, done well, they are healthy and appropriate for all life stages!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The American Dietetic Association is one of the nation's leading nutrition experts!. It's not a vegetarian organization, but it has a position paper on vegetarian diets!.

The organization states that vegetarian diets are "!.!.!.healthful, nutritionally adequate, and provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases!."

The government (politicians) are in bed with the meat and dairy industry lobbyists, do you really think they will approve anything veggie!? Don't hold your breath waiting for this to happen!. Tons of bad meat were sent to school lunch programs just a few months ago, this is the government protecting you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
