Vegetarian snack ideas?!
Ok so I'm trying to go vegetarian!. It's not because I don't agree with eating animals or whatever it's just to see if it has a better effect on my health - I usually feel sluggish when I eat meat!.
Anyway, that aside, can anybody give me some ideas of what I can snack on apart from just a piece of fruit!. I'm fine with it but it's just a bit boring!. And I don't want to be eating chocolate/crisps etc!. either!. So I need something healthy and tasty :) I've just come back from the gym and I'm feeling peckish!

Any kind of fruit, or course, but you are getting sick of that!.
Try some dairy- yogurt or cottage cheese with a side of veg or pretzels, etc!.
Hummus and bagel chips or pita chips (delicious)
bagel with cream cheese and sprouts
peanut butter and anything
handful of mixed nuts and some dried fruit (optional)
You want a protein for long energy and a carb for a quick pick me up!. Choose your carb (preferrably whole wheat) and a protein (beans, dairy, nuts, etc!.) Add fresh or dried fruit for good fiber and you're set!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree with the celery/peanut butter snack--yummy! also apples and peanut butter!. You can mix almonds, cashews(not too many b/c of the fat), assorted nuts, dried fruit, pretzels, and carob!. I like smoothies made with silken tofu, fruit, juice, a touch of honey, and ice!. This is a great smoothie!.!.!.I serve it to my husband and he doesn't know he is consuming tofu (he is not vegetarian)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i would stir fry some lentils with chopped red peppers and grated coconut with some spices as well,then mix with a little skim milk and grind them in the blender to form a sauce,pour the sauce into a small bowl and deco it with chooped cilantro!.!.i would dip celery and carrot sticks in it for snack!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Whole wheat pita bread or flat bread and hummus or roasted red pepper dip!.

I always have roasted almonds close at hand!. They are a good source of protein and give you that full feeling!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.keeps me from grabbing the sweets!. I keep radishes in a container in the refrigerator for a quick snack!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
