How to Tell if Shoes are Made of Real Leather or Fake Leather?!

Question: How to Tell if Shoes are Made of Real Leather or Fake Leather!?
Okay, so I've got a pair of shoes, that I've had for a while, and I don't know whether or not they're made of real leather or synthetic!.

They are New Balance something or another, mostly made of cloth, but with a few pieces of what looks like either real or fake leather!. I can't figure out which ones they are in the online store because they all look the same!. Grr!.

Anyway, do I need to make a thrift store run to try and find new shoes, is basically the question!. I know, I know, minimal information, apologies, apologies, but yeah!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

If they are New Balance they are leather!.
I am prescribed New Balance shoes for my feet problems, even the mostly fabric ones have some leather on them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am vegan too and whilst you may feel uncomfortable using them if it turns out they are leather, the best thing to do would be just to use them but don't buy anymore!.

I still use my leather shoes which I had bought previously and other household products containing animal products, which will all be replaced by vegan products once they are used up!.

There's not much sense in running about replacing everything if it's already been bought!.

:) Hope they're synthetic though!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Somewhere in the inside or even sometimes on the outside (sole) of the shoe it will say all man made materials if it is NOT leather!. If it does have some leather on it, then it will say something like upper is leather sole is man made!. But regardless it will say somewhere on that shoe what it is made of, it is required by law!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

try bending it leather will bend a little but then will go back to its original shape, fake leather doesn't do that!. also put a little water on it, leather will darker because it absorbs the water but fake leather won't and if it is just a little water you will still feel the wetWww@FoodAQ@Com

vegan shoes will say made with all man made material!.sometimes im surprised at the shoes that are vegan!.look on the inside usually on the side it will either say all man made or leather upper(or side or whatever)!.canvas shoes are a great alternative "tennis sohe"Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hmm not sure how to tell when the shoes are used for a while & mostly made of cloth!.!. For new or slightly used, I guess you can tell by the smell!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm pretty sure they are made of leather, at least partially :( Most New Balance sneakers are (most sneakers are unfortunatley)!. I'd find new shoes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i you can't tell, it doesn't matterWww@FoodAQ@Com

Real leather does not have layers or peel!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

check the tag!. If it says leather, it's leather!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Check the label
Buy shoes only from Vegan Shoe SuppliersWww@FoodAQ@Com

If you already own them, I say it doesn't really matter!. If it's not leather, great!. If it is, well you've already paid for them so the "damage" (using your money to send a message that there's a demand for leather) is already done!. There's nothing vegan about wasting a perfectly good pair of shoes and most vegans I know "used up" their pregan leather before sourcing vegan alternatives!. I haven't bought leather shoes in about a year, but I'm still wearing shoes I owned before going vegan (same thing with belts!.)

For future purposes, shoes usually (always!?) have to say what they're made of!. It will say things like "genuine leather uppers," "all man made materials," etc!.!.!. or sometimes they use symbols (leather looks like a whole cow hide would look if you laid it out like a rug!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

leather:

-got a special smell
-if you put a fire in it , it won`t get burnt (at least not for the first 2 minuts or more)
-It is expensive(price indicates it as well)
-Inside looks like the inside skin
-It has not layers!.
-When you use it your feet never sweat

There are shops where you can see that the shoes have inside of it a label saying if it is or not leather!.

I always make sure that my shoes are not made in leather, some of them make me sweat , some of them not!.

But remember that using leather is causing the slaughter to inocent caws and oxes who really deserved to be alive, who protected their babies, who were able to feel cold and pain as you or me!. Same as eating meat , this money goes to the people who kill them!. DON'T USE FUR OR LEATHER!! WEARING A GOOD SHOE DOESN'T JUSTIFY THE MURDER!. Animals must not be harmed but PROTECTED!!!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
