Are most veterinarians vegetarians?!
Answers:
my dad is a vet and is not a vegetarian!.!.!.to the contrary, actually!.!.!.!.!.he's practically a carnivore, lol!.
in all my years of meeting his colleagues and coworkers i have never once met a vet who is a vegetarian!. i'm sure there are some out there, but they are the minority just like vegetarian construction workers or vegetarian lawyers!. while vets do have a special place in their hearts for animals, most of them still hold that certain animals are bred for food!.!.!.!.in fact, veterinary schools and hospitals even refer to cows, pigs, etc!. as the "food animal" division!.
i agree with what you're trying to say though!.!.!.!.that there are different ways to show compassion to animals!. for some people that is by becoming vets or vet techs, for others it is opening a shelter for animals that have been abused, for others it is vegetarianism!.
when it comes down to it i'm just glad they're doing SOMETHING for animal welfare in a world where many people do nothing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I personally know 8-10 veterinarians, none of whom are vegetarians!. My sister in-law is a vet and her husband, also a vet in fact, works in a chicken farm!.!.
A friend of mine is a vet in Saudi Arabia working with horses!.!. He too is not a vegetarian!.!.!.
I really don't kow what this would surprise you!. As in the case of people docs, many are smokers, overweight, don't exercise, eat too much cholesterol etc etc!. I don't see why vets would be considred different in terms of the right to make choices!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You would think that they would be animal lovers and probably would be vegetarians but I don't think they are!. I met a guy once who saw my Meet Your Meat bumper sticker and he told me he was a veternarian and that he was like me, and then he said that most veternarians are not like us!. I am assuming he was meaning for animal rights or vegetarians/vegans or something!. So I doubt that they are!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Some veterinarians are vegetarian but the demographic for the rest of the country holds there as well!. Even in an industry that is committed to taking care of the animal's health they themselves are in business to make money and few of them is likely to make the connection between eating flesh foods and taking care of your Poodle or Persian!. After all they recommend dog food with wild mustang horse meat in it for dogs!. By and large, humans are not logical creatures you know!. We have the capacity to be logical and rational when our emotions are not engaged but that isn't a prevalent state among us!. Sad isn't it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
The only vegetarian veterinarian I ever heard of is Dr!. Michael W!. Fox; author, columnist and activist!.

It does seem logical that the two things would go together more often!. But I've known veterinarians who don't even seem to like animals very much!. Strange, but true!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Are you serious!?!? There is no common ground here other than the first two letters of the words!.
A 'vet' is an animal doctor and a vegetarian is one who does not eat meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, and the vets you seem to be referring to don't care for animals that would be used for food anyhow!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I personally became a veggie for the animal rights issue not for the health benefit!.!.!.!.I'd say no alot of them just do it for an option to stay thin!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
NO! just because you deal with animals does not mean that you do not eat them there are many people that have animals as pets and they still eat meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
