also is it true the fries also have animal fat in them!? Whatever the case I'm sure McDonald's is a place to avoid for anyone concerned about health and or ethics!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
There is no pig fat in the shakes!. There is no animal fat used for the fries!.

In the U!.S!., beef flavoring is added to the fry itself but they are fried in vegetable oil!.

As far as the shakes go, the only oddity I've heard is that there is more sodium in them than the fries!.

"The natural beef flavor in the fries actually is derived from wheat and milk, not beef!."--this is an assumption!. Those are only 2 of several ingredients in the beef flavoring!. The fries are certified vegetarian in the UK but they are NOT in the U!.S!. !. If there was no animal product in the fries in the U!.S!., they would be certified vegetarian as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would recommend that if you are vegetarian, you might not want to eat at McDonalds!. The milk shakes may not have anything derived from a pig, but it does come from cow's milk--and I actually read in a book about 4-5 years ago that the fries have beef flavoring added to them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Who cares!?
I don't think any vegetarian/vegan would seriously consider eating at a burger place, especially not that one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i'm pretty sure they use vegetable fat for frying, complete with very very bad for you hydrogenated veg!. fat!.
harry ramsdens in yorkshire use beef dripping, quite delicious chips it makes too (sorry)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes they do!.

but if your vegetarian why would you want to eat there!?

Here's what is in the shakes!. Notice pig fat is conspicuously absent, but lots of other really unhealthy stuff is there!. If you just CAN'T wait to develop diabetes, then snork down several of these a week!.

The natural beef flavor in the fries actually is derived from wheat and milk, not beef!. However, they are still insanely bad for you!. The potato mixture contains hydrogenated oil AND it is fried in oil that is hydrogenated!. So it, like everything else served there, is a cardiologists nightmare!.

All things considered, pig fat is probably healthier and more natural than most of the artificial ingredients in fast food!. However, I'll be skipping both, thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No they do not!. That is nothing but a rumor, but if you are still worried then I would not wreckamend going to McDonalds!. I would recommend going to Wendy's or Chick-Fal-A!. My last words will be!.!.!.
