Have you done your research!? Present it to them, and tell them you really want to do it!. Show them that you can have a balanced diet full of protein and nutrients without meat/dairy/eggs!. It's normal if they make fun of you, most people become very defensive about their diets and eating habits!. Just stick to your guns and ask for their support!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Your question is too vague!. Do you mean "Ovo-vegetarian, Lacto-vegetarian or Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian"!?
Maybe you should look up the definition in the dictionary!.
You really need to have a better idea of what it is you want to change in your diet!.
If you don't like cheese, don't eat cheese!. If you don't like eggs or milk then give up dairy and replace those with soy!.
If you don't like meat you will have to increase your vegetative protein!. With things like tofu, beans, gluten and nuts!.
It is easy to become unhealthy if you do not know how to eat properly!. It would be best to do some research and get educated so you will not cause your body harm!.
Remember your body can become cannibalistic if not nourished properly!. It will start eating its own organs!. (muscle tissue)
I'm sure that if they saw you were simply eating healthier they would not object or make fun of you!. It isn't something you need to say to them it is a life style change that will take time for you to make and adjust to yourself so they will become accustom to the changes as you make them a habit!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Write down your reasons!.!.!. like you want to eat healthier, you are trying not to support animal cruelty, et cetera!. Make sure they are well-reasoned and insightful!.
Their making fun of you just says that they are closed-minded and immature about this!. Don't call 'em on it, just say politely "This is something that is important to me, and I hope that you will support me in word if not in deed!."
When they say "can't", do they mean that they doubt you will be able to do it, or that they will actively prevent you from being a vegetarian!? If it is the former, just prove them wrong!.!.!. plan out your meals well, scout around for good deals on vegetarian foods (soy milk, faux meat, et cetera) that you buy with your own money -- I wouldn't suggest asking them to buy it for you -- and generally be responsible!. If it is the latter, well I don't know how you would overcome that!. Maybe you would have to ask a vegetarian you know to come over and explain things!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, that's their choice!. Either they lower themselves and make fun of you, or they support you!. Don't allow others to influence you!.!.!. you go ahead and do what you believe to be correct and tell them, ask them for their opinion, be very 'adult' about it, and let them act like a couple of 5 year olds poking fun at some classmate!. Then talk to them like they are 5 years old, "So, are you just going to make fun, or can we have a civilized conversation!?" And stick to your guns!.!.!. they will try to defeat you with "but you won't get any protein" and say all these infuriating comments!. Stick to one answer -- "there are many life long vegetarians out there, a good billion of them I'm sure, and they do fine, and so will I!." or variations thereof!. "there are people at school who are vegan and vegetarian, and they get along fine and their parents support them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
They won't make fun of you they're your parents they're s'post to trust you!. Although i do get where you're coming from!.!.!. i've always felt that with my parents i've never wanted to tell them anything from periods to just simple homework help!.
This happened to my sister except she had a dream about a pig and from then on has always been a vegeterian!.
She was truthful and told them exactly why she wanted to become a vegeterian!.
I suggest you do the same thing and just be truthful with them and explain exactly why you want to become a vegeterian, this will help them gain a better understanding!. Meaning that maybe they can find more about it!.
Good luck (Y)Www@FoodAQ@Com
