Sleepover+Veganism=Chous?!

Question: Sleepover+Veganism=Chous!?
Ok, I'm going to be sleeping over a friends house this Saturday!. We always have a good time, but I think this could be the day it goes wrong!. The last time I slept over her house(which was in November if I'm not mistaking) I ate meat!. But since then, I became a vegetarian, and now I'm a vegan!. The only thing I'm worried about is what I'm going to eat!. Her family eats meat and I don't!. If I was a vegetarian, I wouldn't have to worry so much, but now I'm vegan, so I don't want to have them to stress and go to the store just because what they are offering me has dairy or egg in it or something like that!. She is going to pick me up at 11 P!.M!. so I think I'll just eat lunch before then but what about dinner and snacks!. Think I should bring my own food, cancel!.!.!.!. I'm not to sure!. Sorry if I caused any bit of confusion!

No need to cancel, or to make an issue of it!. Fix up a nice fruit basket and crackers for the whole family-just say you found some lovely fruits that you thought they all would enjoy-nibble on those for the day, and tuck a couple of raw bars into your overnight sack just in case you need something more substantial!. If you DO take something of your own, just share it with the family!. If you don't make a production out of it, neither will they!. My daughter is a veggie, and she does this often!. Offer to whip up some fruit smoothies or take some homemade salsa, hummus, chips, etc!. The less issue you make, the more fun you can make it for everyone!. No need to have a complete meal just for the day-just snack on yummy fruits or veggies with a nice raw dip (my daughter loves spring onion dip or roasted garlic hummus-homemade, of course)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well tell them that your vegan now and explain this most people know but not details!.Suggest something easy that you can all eat and is simple to cook (like tomatoe pasta) and bring your own dairy equivalents so when they have butter/milk your sorted (my friend is lactose-intlerant and this is what she does)!.
Remember to have fun!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If she's picking you up at 11 PM!.!.!. eat dinner before! I hope you mean 11 AM!

Anyway, it might be best to bring your own food so you don't stress out the family or go against your beliefs and eating decisions!. Or you can ask them ahead of time if they have anything Vegan!. They should respect it!. If you really want time with your friend, I say work it out by bringing food or planning with them ahead of time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hey make lasagne roll-ups!.!.!.!.cook lasagne noodles cool mix spinach vegan shredded cheese!.!.!.nutmeg!.!.!.sauteed mushrooms in olive oil with onions until carmelized then place at one end of the noodle about 1/4cup of mixture and roll up!.!.!.then lay all when rolled in a baking dish lined with tomato sauce then spread with tomato sauce and sprinkle with shredded cheese!.!.!.Bake @ 350 for about 45mins and can be baked ahead of time!.!.!.!.have fun and don't sweat it!.!.!.there is always something to eatWww@FoodAQ@Com

What is the big deal!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

There is no need for them to stress on your account!. Just tell them you have made some dietary changes and will be taking responsibility for your own food supply!. Then take your own food packed up in some Tupperware containers!.

Simple!.

Bring a vegan dish you can share with them and some trail mix for a snack!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

bring a couple of snacks that just happen to be veganWww@FoodAQ@Com

Make some yummy Vegan fare that everyone can enjoy!. Just let then know you are bringing it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, 11 p!.m!. is pretty late!.!.!. I imagine the family probably would have eaten dinner by the time you arrive!. So couldn't you eat dinner before you go and just bring some snacks in case you get hungry!? You could bring some soymilk for breakfast and use it with their cereal!.

I definitely wouldn't cancel just because of your diet!. Maybe call your friend and explain that you're worried about inconveniencing her family, and find out what kind of food they will be having!. Then you could bring something similar!. (For instance, if they're having burgers, you could bring a Boca burger!.) If I were you I'd just bring my own food and make enough to share!. Good luck and have fun!Www@FoodAQ@Com
