Need realistic help.?!
With the recent corn and fuel prices rising, a local rescue farm http://www!.chingsanctuary!.org/ needs to have money to feed the animals!. I have just volunteered to help a rescue-farm raise money!.
I love animals, but I have never done this before!. Most people I know are not very interested in helping animals!. –I live in Utah, where hunting is romanced and the Mormon Church is the law!. Kindness to animals is often seen as silly and unimportant!. I work in a diesel company that is not really pro charity!.
I have some Marketing experience and mainly on the web!. I will improve their website, but than what!? How do I raise money!? It will be an on going thing!. – I hope!
Thank you so much for your suggestions!.

That's really nice that you offered to get involved!.
It might be helpful to contact Farm Sanctuary (or another sanctuary for farmed animals) and ask what kind of fundraising techniques they use!. They might not be willing to share this kind of information, but you never know!.!.!. maybe they'd have some useful ideas!.
Facebook and MySpace are good fundraising tools!.!.!. you could write up a sample fundraising "bulletin"!.!.!. then give it to everyone who's involved with the sanctuary and ask them to post it on their MySpace, Facebook, etc!. page!. (Obviously, the bulletin should have a link so people can click on it and easily donate online!.)
It wouldn't hurt to check with local companies to see if they'd be willing to make a donation (cash or supplies) in exchange for some kind of name recognition!. And do research on foundations to see if there are any that make grants to animal sanctuaries in your state / geographic area!.
Maybe you could allow people to sponsor a certain animal and they would get a photo of that animal!. That makes it more personal!.
I'm not really sure how to deal with the problem of local people being apathetic towards animal protection, though!. Hope this helps a little!Www@FoodAQ@Com

!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.do what you can, that is all you can do!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
First off, you might want to try contacting a company that matches gifts to organizations!.!.!.!.some companies like Target will do that to get a tax break, and all you have to do is fill out a quick form in most cases!.
I'm not very good at raising money, but what about doing a supply drive!? You could go through a local school or church (especially a university) and organize a supply drive where people can bring anything that you list as needed!. a shelter here does that periodically and asks for supplies like paper towels, brushes for the animals!.!.!.!.etc!. etc!. It cuts a lot of the costs, and young people are often very willing to help!.
Orange's suggestion of getting people to "sponsor" animals is a great idea!!! I bet a ton of people would love to do something like that!. It would make a great charity gift during the holidays, too!.
Good Luck!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
