Ohh you should do it!! Give her these facts:
Heart disease begins in childhood and a vegetarian diet REVERSES heart disease
Eating meat makes you FAT
We shouldn't have to lie to kids about what we eat
In every package of chicken there's a little poop
Meat is filthy and bloody-YUMM
Killing animals isn't fair
No living creature wants to see their family slaughtered
Eating meat causes "impoliteness" AHEM if you know what i mean
By becoming vegetarians we help STOP animal violence
No one should have to make a living by killing
Only small people eat defenceless animals
No animals deserve to die for YOUR taste buds
The grain used to feed animals reared for food could feed the starving
You can't call yourself an environmentalist and eat meat
Animals are defenseless
When animals feel pain they scream too
They DON'T want to DIE
They feel FEAR
No matter how you slice it, its STILL FLESH
Even PRISONS aren't as crowded as animals cages
Everyone wants to be FREE
Might doesn't make right
You know its WRONG
According to an American report veggies get an extra 7years of life and vegans get 15yrs extraWww@FoodAQ@Com

I've been vegetarian for 3 years, and what I have big problem with is when people in their early teens, such as yourself, decide to become vegetarian and one of the arguments parents use is that this will result in their child having a bad diet!. Now, I've never seen anyone in their teens willingly eat immensely healthy food everyday!. Most teens diets consist of junk food and consume things that are generally unhealthy for them!. If anything, vegetarianism should be promoted!. It makes you pay more attention to your diet, and it makes you more aware of what you're consuming!. I wish you the best of luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The cost factor is a common misconception with being a vegetarian!. It is definatly not more expensive to be a vegetarian!. Explain to your Mom that you can get the same nutriton with a variety of veggies, beans, etc as you could with eating meat!. You will be healthier as most vegetarians do not eat unhealthy processed foods!. Tell her that you will cook your own meals, look online for the benefits of being a vegetarian and show them to her!. The benefits far outweigh the negitives if you maintain a proper balanced diet!. Good luck, and good for you!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

hi!. im 15 and have been veggie for about 6 motnhs now!. it did cause a little hassle at the start but i cook most of my meals and therefor puts no extra hassle on my parents!. As far as cost goes being a vegetarian does not require great deals of money!. A few cheap ingrediants can make the best meal ever - things like stews and cassoroles are easy and cheap!. If you go to your docter or see a nutritionist they can give you lots of helpful information and make sure you recieve all your required nutrients - but it is ahrd work!. I have to eat alot even and still im malnourished!. The only thing you can do to persuade her is explain your reasons for wanting to be veggie and being prepared for a little hassle and grief but it will blow over!. Last but not least have a think about it, it can be hard so make sure your 100% certain this is what you want and the rest will ocme to you! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Tell her the simple facts!. Veggies actually live longer than meat eaters!. And if you eat the right kind of food it's all still nutritious!.
I was fourteen when i turned veggie n my mum dint like it a t first, but when i told her it was something i seriously wanted to do and it wasn't just a fad, she let me!.
also she was worried about the cost too, however when we went to the local supermarket we found that its not more expensive at all!. i have the quorn stuff, n my mum bought me two or three quorn options per week n that was good enough for me!.
Good luck xxxWww@FoodAQ@Com

This is a site from the vegetarian society about how to talk to your parents about going veggie!.
I went veggie when I was about 7-8!. My parents were totally against it, but (quite a few years later) they are both now veggie, as is my sister!. It took a few years but after seeing all the lovely food I had, trying it, realising it's actually a lot cheaper to cut out the meat etc, they gradually changed!.
Good luck

Some good advice said already!.!.!.specially the cook some meals for the family and the it's not expensive comments!.

Try cooking something that folks like, just make it veggie - don't tell them what's special, they might not even notice: veg chilli is a good start!

Compromise for a while!.!.!. but this depends on how strong you feel (if you are repulsed by the idea of eating flesh, then it's no good) - ask if you could just have some more veggie meals during the normal week!. (if the whole family goes veggie for two days a week, that might well be a greater impact than just one member of the family being veggie 24/7!)

Good luck, stick to it!. My son is 13, he's never eaten meal, though he's always been given the option!. He's fit and healthy, plays football, cricket and hockey for the school, etc He's in a lot better condition than many who tuck into McD and KFC!Www@FoodAQ@Com

i'm the same as you i've just turned into a veggie and i'm 13! My mum doesn't really agree!. She says why are you being a vegetarian the whole family eats meant and you have to be a veggie! Fortunately my mum knows what to buy me to get the nutrition i need!.

I eat soya beans, other beans, eggs, cheese, loads of fruit and vegetablesWww@FoodAQ@Com

its your life, and its your choice what you eat!.She should be supporting you, maybe she thinks its just a phase your going through show her how much it means to you and how serious you are about being a vegetarian

-=browneyedfox=-Www@FoodAQ@Com

Offer to cook a few vegetarian meals a week yourself!. Very few moms would say no to that, and it would show maturity that you are willing to take charge!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

just dont eat any meat that she puts on your plate - thatll be a waste of money for her!Www@FoodAQ@Com

try be understanding!.
money is hard to come by nowdays!.
suggest half and half to her and see what she says!.
good luckWww@FoodAQ@Com

u tell her the advantages!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i hope not!.dont do it!.thik of all the bacon butties you will miss!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
