Is vegetarian food healthier than non-veg?!

Question: Is vegetarian food healthier than non-veg!?
Answers:
First - vegetarians eat the same food as non-vegetarians - - except for the meat and meat byproducts!.

A vegetarian diet means that instead of eating meat and their byproducts - they eat primary grains, beans, vegetables, and fruit!. Since people that eat meat also (usually) eat these very same things - wondering from what aspect your approaching with your question - just taking meat out of your diet is healthier!? maybe!?

The sentence as it stands - a bit on the vague side as you don't make clear exactly what your looking for!. So if the information that your looking for is if taking meat out of your diet can be healtier for a person *IF* they eat a balanced and well planned diet - the answer is *YES*!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No it isn't all the time!. And what constitutes vegetarian food and why would it be different from Omni food (aside from meat of course)!? Let me explain: If an Omni eats a salad without meat, does that mean the omni is eating "vegetarian" food or an omni food without meat!? Omni means all so any food with or without meat falls under this category!. So an Omni or "non-veg" eating a meal of salad with dressing, pizza bread with tomato, avocado and mozzarella with olive oil and a dessert of fruit "soup" is actually eating a vegetarian meal or simply eating a non-veg meal without meat!? ( the food was my dinner last night and I am certainly not a "veggie")

I am not arguing one way or the other!. But I am curious to see how one can be separated from the other when Omni is all encompassing!. Is it correct to say that a vegetarian diet is simply a sub category of omnivorous food consumption that is distinguished by the non consumption of meat!?

It was a long day at the office!.!.!.!.and I am on my third drinkWww@FoodAQ@Com

I would say yes and no!.
Vegetarian store-bought food can sometimes have a lot of sodium or preservatives!. The faux meats are highly processed (especially once you put it into perspective: those items were once soy beans!)!. I found some veggie broth the other day that had more sodium than regular soy sauce! UGH! (and that's why I use tamari)!.
Any-who!.!.!.I do think that home cooked veggie food tends to be healthier than non-veg food!. Most veg*ns I know are very health-conscious and their concern about their diet extends beyond meat and animal products!. The other ingredients are probably whole grain, organic, reduced fat/sodium/cholesterol, etc!.
Every situation is different!. Speaking from my personal experience, the dishes I cook as a vegan are MUCH healthier than the ones I cooked as a meat eater!. In essence, I eat the same things - stir fries, pasta dishes, etc!. But the major difference (besides the absence of meat) is that my ingredients are healthier!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarian food can be anything meat and meat- by- product free so it all depends what is eaten!. I mean potato chips and oreos are vegetarian friendly but not healthy!. What you probably mean is "Is not meating meat healthier then eating meat"!. The answer for the most part is yes due to hormones, antibiotics, fat and cholesterol that most meat has!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

So in other words, is meat less healthy than all the other food in the world!?

Now think about it:
Is meat healthier than Twinkies!? Yes
Is meat healthier than broccoli!? No

A well-balanced vegetarian diet can certainly be healthier than a diet that contains meat!. The primary benefit is reduced cholesterol intake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your question is WAAAAAAAYYYYY too vague!. But, if you're asking whether a (well planned) vegetarian diet is healthier than a meat-eating diet, there is no debate!. The scientific consensus is a big yes - vegetarians are less likely to have problems with obesity, heart disease, and cancer, and are generally healthier than meat-eaters!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes - if you do it right!. If you go veggie, then you have to pay attneiton to what you eat so to make sure you get enough of what you need - especially protien, the B vitamins and Omega 3 oils!. This can be helped by taking a good multiple vitamin daily!. But on a veggie diet you cut out most of the fats and get a lot more fiber and the simple vitamins!.

It depends!. Fruit and vegetables are essential, meat is not!.

A balanced vegetarian / vegan diet is healthiest diet in my opinion!. It's well documented that vegetarians have leaner bodies, have less chance of obesity, and they live longer IF they enjoy a balanced diet and low-stress lifestyle!. Exercise is important for everyone!.
Look how great Reese Witherspoon looks!. She's vegetarian (but she has a great make up artist too)!.
