Question: Vegetarians: What about Milk!?
I like to read stuff from RealAge!.com and found this article/quiz!. Please read it!. I want to know what you think!

"Does Milk Really Do a Body Good!?" @ http://www!.realage!.com/NutritionCenter/A!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Really interesting link!! I agree that milk is not as wholesome as is told by general US society!. Especially now with all the over-production, cows fed unnatural diets full of grain and pesticides, etc!.

My body is doing great without it!.

Tim J, if milk is so great, why do you and others turn to getting it from a cow!? Surely that can't be as beneficial as if you would suck on your mom's teet!. If you don't suck on your mom's boob anymore, what justification do you have for drinking cow juice still!? After all, milk is made to fatten and provide nutrients to developing young!. You, I'm sure are full grown already, so why!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's pretty simple really, if Bossy is your family pet and you get to milk her then your milk is probably safe!. If not -- well, not!. And if not then you are better off drinking Soy Milk, Rice Milk, Almond Milk or Hemp Milk!.

What that article doesn't tell you is that when you pasteurize milk and ultra pasteurize it the temperatures go so hight that they actually break the peptides so that the body no longer recognizes the substance as anything other than plastic!. So, if it is seen as plastic the body goes to work to create mucus to remove it from the body!. For this reason alone many, if not most, Americans now believe that they have an allergy to or sensitivity to milk and milk products!.
Don't you just love it when the industry destroys its own product to the point that many of its customers no longer can use it without severe reaction to it!? What a wonderful world we live in!Www@FoodAQ@Com

personally i think milk does do a body good, but drinking it all the time like people tell you to seems a little unnatural to me!. calves dont drink milk when they are 20, why should we!? i know people think "oh well humans are above the animals and we should develop our own methods" but the truth is, we're not that much different

i've heard of that pasteurization situation and i think to some extent its true, but not to clean out the milk would be a pretty big risk to take!.!.!.

soy milk is so much better and it actually has all kinds of good stuff for you that milk cant compete with!. and it even has fewer calories for people watching their weight!. its good stuff, but too much can hurt you, just like anything else

so drink milk if you want, but try soy milk once in a while!. everything's good in moderationWww@FoodAQ@Com

I don't drink milk!. I drink soy milk because I think conventional milk tastes really gross!.

That is an interesting read but I sometimes feel like people put too much emphasis on what to consume and what not to consume!. I sometimes wonder if it's going to come to a point where everything you ingest can be bad!.

Everything in moderation!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Thanks, I enjoyed your article!.

For me getting rid of milk was easy because I never liked it and it would spoil so fast!.

However, when looking at milk logically, it is COMPLETELY unnatural for humans to consume!. It is the hormonal secretion of another animal!. also, there is no other animal on the planet that drinks milk past infancy, let alone the milk of another species!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think many of their facts are totally misleading!.

For one, no dairy cows eat an all grain diet!. It's too expensive and just like you, no animal/person can live eating just one thing!. All cows have a varied diet!.

Bring on the thumbs down!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm vegan because I'm allergic to milk, eggs, gelatin, honey, fish/shellfish, along with many many other things!. So, this article doesn't really bother me!. Before my allergy, I preferred soy milk anyway!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've never liked milk and never thought it was healthy!. Whenever I've consumed any dairy products I end up having trouble breathing, so I stay away from them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i drink milk!. it is full of calcium!. i have to drink it to get my protien (im veg) but i only drink skim, so not too many caloriesWww@FoodAQ@Com

I use very little organic milk in my cereal occasionally!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I just found some yummy soy yogurt!. SoGood soy makes it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've really fallen in love with almond milk!. Then there's soy and hemp!. I don't miss cow's milk at all!. I'm new to this so I was really surprised!. Now if only the cheese could be as good!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm vegan!. It wasn't hard to give up milk because the pus/blood thing is not a myth!. I would never eat or drink dairy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cows don't even drink cows milk, except when they are babies!. Why should you!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just keep this in mind when you think about milk!.!.!. Milk is one of the most complex liquids on earth!. It has over 100 million years of refinement by mother nature, and is the only liquid universally agreed to as the best food for all mammal newborns!. No man made product (especially soy products) has ever been able to compete with milks unique nutrient abilities!.!.!. And yes, they definitely have tried very hard at doing this!.!.!.!.

also, I spent nearly 2 decades living and working on a dairy farm, and I can tell you from personal experience that I have never even seen a dairy farm that uses bovine growth hormones!. I am not saying that they do not exist, but that they must be very rare!. also, it is highly unlikely you will ever see a "grass fed" dairy cow (Holstein) because the animal simply cannot survive on such a low calorie diet!. Anyone who knows dairy cattle knows that they love to eat!. That is why mother nature gave them several stomachs I might add!.!.!.

Finally!.!.!. As far as you drinking milk!.!.!.!. There is little doubt of its nutritional value as it is one great resource for carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and proteins, but as with everything else you should eat, it is all about balance!. I hope that you consider this when you make up your mind about milk!.!.

Good Luck and I Hope this Helps!.!.!. :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
