Vegans????!
Well i just got back from the grocery store buying a bunch of vegan stuff, because Im going vegan tomorrow!. Well, I found Morning Star products so I bought their meatless hamburgers, corndogs, and chicken nuggets!.
I made a few chicken nuggets in the microwave when I got home and tried them - DELICIOUS! They taste WAY better than regular meat, you dont have the greasy feeling knowing your eating real animals!.
Anyways, i looked on the side label and it said ' contains soy milk and egg products ' - but then it said it 100% vegetarian!. Did they mean like the soy milk and vegetarian eggs that I saw in the vegetarian section!? Because I cant give these things up! Their awesome!
expirienced people only please;)Www@FoodAQ@Com

The packaging states your worst nightmare: they DO contain egg and milk products!. They are suitable for vegetarians, but not vegans!.
I was devastated when I realized that as well!.!.!.and I agree - they taste amazing! You might want to look into some different brands of meatless meats - they might be vegan!. Life Light (they have the Gimme Lean ground beef) and Yves are two brands that I've seen that have a variety of products that are vegan!. Unfortunately, Morning Star has a precious few products that are vegan - same with Bocca!.
Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

they contain soy, milk, and egg!. they don't use soymilk, or if they so, they still use cows milk!.
Even if you find stuff in the vegetarian section or a store, it still can have milk and eggs in it!. It's best to read labels and not just on stuff like that!. It's best to read the labels on everything because you never know when something that seems like it will be vegan really isn't!.
Watch out for Casein (or milk protein), gelatin, honey, lard, pepsin, rennet, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Palmitate, whey, and urea to name a few!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

vegitarians still eat eggs and dairy!. that is something that you have to look out for!. so, 100% vegitarian does not mean that it is at all vegan!. that is actually interesting, because i did not know that it contained eggs!. (i am a vegitarian, but i really try to limit my egg and dairy intake!.) they are awesome, and i really wish that more meat eaters would try them!. its really sad that they wont!.
so, sorry, they are not vegan!. good luck becoming a vegan if that is what you choose!. : )Www@FoodAQ@Com

Many of the vegetarian faux meats are not vegan, unfortunately!. (I made the same mistake when I first went vegan!.!.!. don't feel badly about it!.) It's a good idea to read the ingredients to see whether a certain product has eggs or milk in it!.
also, all of the faux meats listed on this site are vegan:

Sometimes the label will say that the product was manufactured on equipment that also handled non-vegan food!. This information is for people with allergies, and products like these are still vegan as long as they don't have eggs or milk in the ingredients!. Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

This will be a big annoyance for you!. The Morning Star products do have real eggs and milk in them!. I can't stand when non-dairy items have milk protein!. You'll get used to it!. Write to the makers of these products and let them know more people would be buying them if they didn't have eggs or dairy!.
If there is a Trader Joe's in your area they have chicken nuggets without egg!. Whole foods has some really good vegan items too, like veggie "chicken" taquitos!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Be healthy!.!.!. this is your life! And you are what you eat!.!.!.*smiles* Vegans and vegetarians are in a subculture or their own!.!.!. I've been vegetarian for 6 years and never regretted the choice! Food is expensive, (so be cost smart), and look carefully at ingredients!. Boca is good too, but the ones you listed are good too!. You can order stuff online too!.!.!. Good luck to you!Www@FoodAQ@Com
If they say 100% vegetarian, it doesn't mean they are vegan!. ALWAYS read the labels!. I would eat them for now, the money is spent; or you could give them to a food bank or to your friends, etc!.
If you cant give them up -- well, you do what you want to to do!. Its your decision what you do with them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Theres a difference between Vegetarian and Vegan!.
Vegetarian means you eat mostly veggies, and very little meat products!.
Vegan means you dont eat anything made from an animal!.!.!.this includes cheese, milk, and stuff made with milk or eggs!.
By the food industry standards in this country, food companies can use 90 percent vegetables and 10 percent anything else (including meats and dairy) and still call it "vegetarian" on the package!.
Vegetarians usually are people who have cut most of the meat and dairy out of thier diet, but still use some of the products!.!.!.!.!.eggs, cheese, butter, etc!.!.!.!.!.
Ive tried the Boca Burgers before, and they were disgusting!.
Some meat alternatives vegans use in dishes that usually contain meat are:
mushrooms
nuts
whole grains
tofu
I prefer mushrooms myself!.
I hate tofu, but have a friend who makes some killer fried tofu!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
