VEGETARIANS... If you had to grow your own vegetables would you still be a veggie?!

Question: VEGETARIANS!.!.!. If you had to grow your own vegetables would you still be a veggie!?
Answers:
Absolutely! They taste a lot better than shop bought veg, no chemicals or artifical colouring!. It's also very satisfying when you've grown them yourself!. You don't really need a garden either, a lot of veg can be grown in large pots!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Definitely, as home grown vegetables taste a lot better, are quicker from garden to the table, and you have control on what is, and more importantly, what is not used on them!.
Organic fruit and veg is the best of the lot, and by growing your own, not only are you getting the best taste, but can also recycle the waste for next year's compost!.

Silly question really because why would people grow food crops and not eat them!? Even commercial growers patronise their own products!. My family are farmers (sort of, more like land owners since we don't actually plant anything ourselves!. We hire people to do that) and we do grow a variety of crops including vegetables!. We sell most of it but we grow organic for our own use!. We cannot sell our organic competitively yet but might in the future!.

By the way, I am not in any shape or form a vegetarian!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would love to grow my own veggies, and we do grow some!. We would grow more if we had the room!.

Someday when we own our own house instead of renting, we plan on having a self-sustaining garden!.!.!.Were talking one big garden! Peas, green beans, corn, tomatoes, squash, onions, etc!.-

I think most vegetarians would want to grow their own stuff!. There's nothing quite like picking a tomato, still warm from the sun, and eating it in a sandwich!.!.!.It's a great feeling and a great treat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not sure of the point of this question; I assume it's meant to be a reversal of the often asked question ''Would you still eat meat if you had to kill your own!?''!.

But whereas that makes SOME sense, this question doesn't really!. Everybody eats vegetables, not just vegetarians!. In what circumstances would everyone be forced to grow their own veg!?

I don't think you've thought this through!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

In this hypothetical situation, I assume you are saying we can buy meat but not vegetables!? Since everyone needs vegetables, I would think even the meat-eaters would have vegetable gardens in that scenario!.

If we couldn't buy any food at the store, I would think vegetarianism would become a lot more common!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if i had to grow my own vegetables i would starve!.
the only plant i have succesfully grown was a cactus, and those grow in sand, for crying out loud!!
i used to grow herbs, but those didn't make it!. =(

using my hands for gardening is like giving plants the kiss of death!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a vegetarian- and I grow my own fruit, vegetables and herbs!. It's very satisfying!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
