Answers:
Sorry, but indeed most waffles are not vegan!. If you go into a restaurant and ask for them, there is a 99% chance that they will not be!. If you like to cook your own food (which is more fun anyway) here's a pretty good waffle recipe:

2 egg substitute equivalent (you might be able to use the banana substitution method, but I have not tried it with this recipe)
1 1/2 cups soy milk
1/4 cup melted soy margarine (I prefer Earth Balance)
4 tablespoons raw sugar
1/2 cup soy sour cream
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 cup unbleached white flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Just mix the dry and wet ingredients in separate bowls then combine!. Pour into a waffle iron and cook until easily removed!. You can serve them with soy butter, maple syrup, fruit, or any of your topping favorites!. Enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It depends on what you put in it!. Nearly all waffles you buy at restaurants or in the frozen food aisle are made with eggs and milk, so they are not vegan!.

I have seen vegan toaster waffles in the grocery shop though!. Your best bet is to make waffles yourself that way you can control what goes into them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, most waffles contain eggs and/or milk!.

Vans has vegan waffles - the Multi-Grain and 97% Fat Free waffles are vegan!. Look for them at Whole Foods or your local health food store!.
