Agave, and Blue Agave are two products that are made from the Agave plant which is a cactus, are sweet and viscous like honey and are a good substitute for it!. it has 60 calories per Tbs!. It doesn't have quite the acidity that honey has however!. But it has a much better balance than Barley Malt, Or Brown Rice Syrup both of which are sweet and are viscous alternatives to Honey!.
To simply add sweetness to a tea or something else like that, however, nothing works as well as Stevia either powder or liquid -- which has 0 calories and 0 carbohydrates!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I use brown rice syrup!. It's nice because you can sub it for your honey (like with your tea) and also your sugar (like when you bake)!.
It's an acquired taste, but you get used to it!. It's not as sweet as honey, so if you are concerned at all about blood sugar, this might be the choice for you!.
At my local health food store, it was about the same price as honey too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
