Vegetarians don't eat fish, no!. Some people call themselves semi-vegetarians and eat fish and/or chicken, but they're not proper vegetarians!. There are three different types of vegetarians:
1!. Lacto-ovo-vegetarian - eats both dairy products and eggs but no other animal products including meat and fish!. This is the most common type of vegetarian diet!.
2!. Lacto-vegetarian - Eats dairy products but not eggs and no other animal products including meat and fish!.
3!. Vegan!. Does not eat dairy products, eggs, or any other animal product!.

Lacto-ovo vegetarians-eat milk products and/or eggs
Pescatarians-eat fish only
You decide what is right for you
You can choose to eat only chicken and no pork or red meat as well!.
The main restriction is always cow and pig!.
Some actually eat fish, eggs, chicken and milk products!. You decide how strict you want to be!.

I honestly think people who think they're vegetarian, yet eat fish are looking for loop holes!. Vegetarian means eating NO MEAT and sea animals are made up of meat!.
If you're becoming a vegetarian for personal reasons, as opposed to religious reasons, then evaluate your own guidelines!. I don't think there's anything wrong in tweaking the rules (i!.e!. people who eat seafood but no other meat), as long as you don't false claim you're vegetarian!.
Becoming a vegetarian would mean you give up eggs as well, which may not be that simple considering most baked goods require eggs!. I do have friends that are vegetarians and don't eat eggs in the form of hard boiled or omlettes but do take them if they're baked into something--like cakes, cupcakes, brownies, etc!.
If you're becoming a vegetarian for religious purposes, check out the guidelines and if you're doing it for animal rights then you probably shouldn't eat any form of meat--land animal, sea animal or eggs!.
In the end, it's really your call!. Good Luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

As a chef i deal with this problem all the time "i'm a vegitarian but i eat fish" or chicken or whatever!. If you eat fish or any other animal you are not a vegitarian!.!.!.!.you are a picky eater!. My mother was told to become a vegan by her doctor after having gall bladder problems and she swears it is fantastic!.!.!.!.!. but if you want to eat healthy and have a good body it is important to eat properly and this should probably include fish and or seafood for essential amino acids that just can't come from anywhere else!. I say eliminate sugars and carbohydrates from your diet aswell as processed or packaged food and try to go organic all protiens are fine just try to go for low fat!. but remember even fat is essential for a healthy diet!. good luckWww@FoodAQ@Com
