Question: Vegetarians can you explain this!?
I am not a vegetarian!.!. but I probably eat less meat than most people!.!. and very little chicken!.!.
okay
so most vegetarians say they are vegetarian because of animal cruelty!.!. good!.!.!. fine!.!.
BUT so many actually still eat chicken!.!. how do they justify this when chicken is infact the most CRUELLY raised of all livestock!?!?

I can understand eating FREE RANGE eggs!.!. but thats about it!.!.

(by the way I have 4 free range hens)

so how to you/they justify this!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
No vegetarian eats chicken!. Chicken is still considered meat in any real vegetarian's mind!. Vegetarian by definition implies someone that does not eat any animal flesh - fish, poultry, insects, whatever!. So if someone says they are vegetarian and then shovel their face full of chicken, they're either very mistaken about what it means to be vegetarian or they are unclear on the concept/lying!.

On that note, I agree, chickens are some of the most cruelly treated animals on the planet!.

As for eggs, you are correct that eggs are rarely cruelty free, and I applaud you for personally raising and taking care of your chickens and making sure your eggs are ethically source!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No TRUE vegetarians eat chicken, OR fish, for that matter! The basic vegetarian is called a "Locto-Ovo Vegetarian"--one that eats ONLY dairy products and eggs!. Take one prefix away or the other, and they only eat one of the two!.

Vegans eat no part of an animal as vegetarians, but also refrain from eating animal by-products like dairy and eggs!.

I would agree with you that people who SAY they are vegetarians but still eat chicken have very, very flawed thinking!. They shouldn't be giving us true veggies a bad rap, or continue to encourage the market that veggies will eat meat!. It's just no so!.

Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree with the others!. Vegetarians don't eat chicken!. Chicken is meat and vegetarians don't eat meat!.

There are people who say that chicken is the only type of meat they eat!. They call themselves pollotarians!. They are not vegetarians and should never claim to be!.

There is no way to justify it because chicken is meat and it doesn't matter if you only eat a little!. You still add to the problem if you eat one bite!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think you have got several explanations so far, so maybe it might be better to do some research before start slating vegetarians!.
So it doesn't matter how little chicken you eat, you are still eating more than a vegetarian, and therefore you are contributing to animal cruelty, not the vegetarians!!!!!!
Oh and just for the record!.!.!.vegetarians don't eat fish either, just in case that was your next question!
Hope you understand now!Www@FoodAQ@Com

NO vegetarian eats chicken!. If someone eats chicken and tells you they are vegetarian, they are either stupid, ignorant or lying!.

Lots of people stop eating red meat and continue to eat white meat because they perceive it as healthier, but you're right!.!.!. if they say they are "vegetarian" for animal cruelty reasons and they eat dead, abused animals, they are making fools of themselves!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The ones that eat chicken are not vegetarians since vegetarians do not eat any animals!. If you know someone that calls themselves a vegetarian and eats chicken!.!.then correct them!. Just because someone says they are something, doesn't mean it's always true!.

There is a lot of misinformation floating around and that's pretty sad because it makes it harder for those of us who are real vegetarians!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarians don't eat chicken!. In fact most sites that give yu advise on how to become a vegetarian say that if you are going to ease into it the first meat you should stop eating is chicken!.

If a person says they are a vegetarian but still eat chicken, they're not!. They're just a person who doesn't eat red meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Then they're NOT vegetarians!.!. Plain and simple!. They are people who want say they are so they're cool!.!. When actually they're just meat eaters who eat less meat!.!. This always upsets me because in order to be a vegetarian you need to ACTUALLY be a vegetarian!.!.!. And as far as free range goes something like you have is great!.!.!. But all free range means is that they are cage free!.!.!.!. Not that the space they're being given is any bigger, they are still fed crap for food and murdered in the end!. In closing really any animal that you eat is being taken off this planet for your own satisfaction!.!.!.!. You don't need meat!.
Thanks:)Www@FoodAQ@Com

you can't justify it becuase a vegetarian does not eat any meat! so if your eating chicken your jsut not a vegetarian!

and to eat chicken adn call yourself a veg and say it's because of animal cruelty is beyond me!.!.!. i'm all for meat reduction, but get the facts straight at least before you confuse other people,Www@FoodAQ@Com

people have recently decided to make sub categories of vegitarianism!. Which i think is bull!. You either eat meat or you dont!.
I only ate chicken for 10 years no red meat but thats because i dont like red meat and I feel its extremely unhealthy for your body to digest!. But I didnt consider myself a vegitarian, I am just picky about my meat!. Which is what I think anyone who your implying that eats chicken but says they are a veg!. is!.
Unfortunatly being a veg, is now something "cool" to be!. its hip and the in thing and it really shouldnt be!. I compare it to being pregnant in hollywood!. Stupid!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Heya

Unfortunatly there are a few so called 'vegetairans ' that eat fish and chicken and give the others a bad name!. I totaly agreee with you and i wouldnt call these poeple veggies!. =] xxxWww@FoodAQ@Com

It is ridiculous to even suggest you are a vegetarian if you still eat chicken! !.!.I'm a vegetarian and I dont eat any meat what so ever, however I dont have a problem with anyone who does!. A chicken is still an animal!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is no way to justify it!. They are just bullsh**ing you or lying to themselves!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
