Eating vitamin C-rich foods (like citrus fruits and peppers) when you eat iron-rich foods is a good way to increase iron absorption!. You could also take a multi-vitamin that contains iron!. I hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

What did he/she have to say nutrition wise!? did yo ask your parents/doc about a professional nutritional consult!? This s medical problem with serious implications and should not be taken lightly!. Listening exclusively to well intentioned but anecdotal nutritional advice from armchair nutritionists in this forum is not a good idea!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cream of Wheat does have a lot of iron (like 2/3rds of what you need daily) but there are plenty of other sources!. Plus you can always take an iron supplement, its relatively standard for women I think!?
But in terms of food- beans of all kinds are usually a good source of iron (lentils, soybeans, etc) and also have lots of protein to give you more energy!. Black molasses has a ton but who really eats molasses every day!?:) Lots of grain and cereal products have iron added, just check the packages to see whats best nutritionally & you like to eat!. Spinach and other dark green vegetables have good amounts of iron too, also nuts & dried fruits like apricots!.
I'd try finding a few cereal/grain products that have extra iron and eating beans and green vegetables more often!. That should help with the iron deficiency and also just make your diet a little healthier!.
also this site is good- they have a lot of stuff on vegetarian nutrition- here are the links to a list of foods with lots of iron, also a link to the page on veg!. foods with lots of protein, which will also help with your energy for exercise!. Hope that helps a little:)
