It pollutes our environment while consuming huge amounts of water, grain, petroleum, pesticides and drugs!. The results are disastrous!.”

I did after gaining knowlege on how animals are tortured, tormented and killed so we can eat them!. It's a very sick sad story, and I'm not going to be a part of it!. After gaining further knowlege on this, I've discovered that humans have no need for meat, and we eat entirely too much protein as it is, without having to consume more!. Too much of this protein is bad for us and causes us to pee out calcium which is vital for proper bone health!. The stench is another factor!. How many times have you drove by a packing plant or farm and said eeew! I would never eat anything that can smell like that! I love animals, and no, God didn't put them here for us to eat! They're farmed beyond our belief and artifically inseminated to repopulate at a higher rate for us (or you) to eat! God doesn't have anything to do with that, farmers do!. Animals feel the pain and suffering just like we would if we went through what they do!. And that's why I'm a very proud vegetarian!. Meat eating is just so behind the times, like cowboy indian days or something!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
I became a vegetarian because I care about both animals and the environment!. I believe, and many scientific studies support me, that many animals can feel emotions and pain!. I do not like the idea of causing any creature unnecessary pain, and believe that depriving something of life is a form of murder!. Additionally, cows contribute a great deal to global warming by emmitting vast quantities of methane!. If we stop, or at least cut down on, our raising of cattle we will reduce the amount of methane emmitted!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I can't speak for all - but I went vegetarian because of the interaction with epilepsy drugs with animal proteins on my stomach!.
The seizures started coming more and more frequently and had to make the choice - seizures or meds!. I take the meds!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

people become vegetarians because they think it is not fair for the innocent animals to be killed for food!. they also want to be healthier rather then eating greasy, fattening meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I became a vegan for health reasons!.I can honestly say I fell much better today!.I had a lot of health problems and I'm rid of them all!.For me it's the best way to go!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
