Question to the people who are 100% against any product testing with animals.?!

Question: Question to the people who are 100% against any product testing with animals!.!?
This question is not agresive!. I just want to know what alternatives you suggest in some cases!.
How to test drugs without animals!?
How to practise surgeries!?
I love animals but i can't imagine how the situation could be changed!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I'm vegan and I'm completely against *non-essential* animal testing, like cosmetics and that sort of stuff!. But when it comes to medical testing its definitely a conflict of conscience!.

But being vegan is not about being a martyr, it is about minimising as far as you can your contribution to animal suffering and exploitation!.

I guess in an ideal world, no we would NOT be testing on animals!. In reality you have to take a more utilitarian approach and weigh up the benefits vs the disadvantages and aim to minimise harm and maximize good!.

I suspect there are some idealists out there who say they completely oppose ALL forms of animal testing!. But I suspect most, if not all of them have taken some sort of drug or pharmaceutical which has been tested on animals!. Just think of all the lives that have been saved!.

I support only *essential* medical research!. We may need to reform regulations or restrict the number of animals used in such research!. But medical testing has the potential to save countless lives!.

If it's about my health or life or death, I will definitely take the medication!. I can't support the cause if I'm dead!. I can make more of a difference to the cause if I'm alive!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am not hardcore against animal testing of any drugs, but I don't believe most drugs need to be tested on animals!. Lab tests, followed by testing on human volunteers could be enough in many cases!. As for surgeries, aren't there cadavers to practice on!? Or if it's just the stitching they need to practice, there are vegetables of many different textures!. I'm sure some would work!.

EDIT: Oh and at least the convicted criminals did something wrong, as opposed to the innocent animals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Drugs are tested using cell cultures and assaying them with fluorescence!. It is more expensive this way, but even the scientists who came up with the drugs test them out this way too (if they have enough money to do it this way)!.

Practicing surgeries can be just like Dr!. Christina Yang on Grey's Anatomy in which she was whip stitching a banana!. They also practice on cadeavors (all the time in medical school!)!.

The situation can be changed, and is being changed by the consumers!. Do not buy cosmetics, hair care products, and many other material items without checking to see if it is crueltry-free!. Yes, together we can make a difference, even as an individual!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

First off, testing cleansers and cosmetics and other nonmedical items is cruel and unnecessary, so we can stop that!. Right!?

Testing medicines and medical procedures on non-human animals is imperfect because our systems are vastly different!. Thalidomide was shown to be safe in animal testing but caused horrific side effects when it was given to pregnant women!. How many drugs have been pulled off the market after causing deadly side effects in humans!? Whether animal testing showed they were "safe" or there was pressure on the FDA to approve this drug--or both--caution is indicated here!.

I don't expect that to end immediately, but I would like to see doctors and scientists work on phasing it out with other methods of testing the efficacy and safety!. If we can send a man to the moon, blah, blah, blah!.!.!.At a minimum, we can surely reduce the number of animals who die in the name of medical advancement!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I just view the killing of animals as cruel and unnecessary!. Even if they died by "lethal injection" and felt no pain, there's no good reason for it when we have such abundance of healthy food to sustain ourselves without eating dead animal flesh!.

Cutting out meat is better for the planet too!. Just that act reduces one's Carbon Footprint to 1/24 th of what a meat eater has!. I've heard in an interview on TV that it's even a bigger impact than going from a Toyota Camry to a Toyota Prius!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Grey's Anatomy is a tv show!.Would you want to go under the knife when the doctor has only practiced on a banana!?
I've been a vegan all my life, but I don't see a way around some animal testing when it comes to medical testing and training!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Drugs go through human trials before they're approved by the FDA!.!.!. why not just test on consenting humans!?

And med students practice on cadavers with their instructors and on humans in operating rooms under the guidance of residents attending physicians!. The guy who did your coronary artery bypass graft never practiced it on a dog!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Those who want no testing on animals prefer for humans to be the test specimens!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

test on convicted criminals
where there is NO doubt of guilt
and a lifetime sentence has been imposedWww@FoodAQ@Com

teston people who have commited SERIOUS crimes
on those who are on the death penalty!.
if theyre gonna die might as well let them have some use,Www@FoodAQ@Com

If people used all natural stuff, they wouldn't need to worry about allergies and blindness,m and therefore wouldn't need to test on animals!. If humans wouldn't let them test on them, no one should force it on an animal!.

Someone needs to make a human-like doll with all the internal human stuff!. You can't practice human surgeries on animals, we're not the same! As for animal surgeries, just make a fake animal like they would do for a human doll!. There's no excuse!. People need to stop being so ignorant and lazy!.

Some vaccines have been known to kill people, and many who don't take the vaccines aren't dead!.

Brick walls do things the way it's always been!. Brains will find alternatives and make sure no one gets hurt!. Brick walls don't understand!. Brains learn new things every day!. We are not brick walls!. You are the one not getting it, and wanting an answer that satisfies your thoughts on these issues!. We are not being naive!.

I don't suggest testing on convicted people!. This is also wrong, no matter what these people did!. The point is "do no harm" and until these "educated" people are smart enough to find ways to make this happen, I think many people will have a problem with their work!.

There are plenty of every day products that are NOT tested on animals, which means it is possible to make a good product without the abuse of animals!. People just need to stop being lazy about what they buy and actually start looking for the right stuff!. I don't think it's hard, but if people just sit there and say it can't be done, then no one will bother trying something new!. Think outside the box and you'll be able to find a lot of ways to do things right!. People are just so used to the whole animal testing strategy, they feel they can't escape it, so they adjust to it without realizing they don't know the whole story and are accepting what others have told them!. Then they wonder why the world is getting worse in so many ways!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

lol Naive!? Is that what you think!? Before you go calling people that you should research the subject!. I don't agree but!.!.!. that's how they used to test them!.!.!. on convicted criminals!. Poor suggestion, maybe!. Naive, no!.
I don't know how as of yet to test meds!. on anything but humans but who knows!. I also don't care as I am a vegetarian without a death wish!. However, while you are calling others naive, I would like to ask you how many times you have checked the vaccines you have been injected with through life to see if the attenuated viruses were encapsulated with constructs containing mercury!? How many times have you asked about the shelf life on the vaccine you are using and asked for the expiration date!. While unlikely, there are situations of immunization with expired vaccines!. lol and you call testing on criminals naive!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Genuine medical research is a different and more difficult issue than testing unnecessary products on animals, and either saying that you are completely against it or that you wouldn't accept drugs tested on animals is to ignore a number of important issues!.

If you were seriously, life-threateningly ill, would the fact that procedures and drugs you would need for treatment had almost certainly been tested on animals stop you from accepting them!?

Last week I asked whether people would accept animal-tested drugs if they had a life-threatening illness or accident, or if their child did!.

I had some very good answers; I was hoping for answers from people who say, whenever the question of animal testing comes up, that they are against all animal testing!. None of them answered my question, however!.

http://answers!.yahoo!.com/question/index;!.!.!.

I am vegan, and I would probably not be alive today if not for drugs and procedures that had, by law, been tested on animals!. People can call me a hypocrite if they like (although they have misunderstood the meaning of the word if they do), but I don't believe anyone who says that if it were them, or their spouse or parent or child, they would take death rather than accept medical procedures which had been tested on animals!.

I wish medicines weren't tested on animals!. But I'm willing to bet that anyone who says they'd never take such drugs has never been seriously ill or involved in a serious accident!. In other words have never been in a life or death situation!.

And the suggestion that if people used 'all natural stuff' there wouldn't be illness is so naive and silly as not to be worth a comment!.

Being vegan means doing all you can and the best you can to minimise your contribution to animal suffering and exploitation!. Sacrificing your life is not required!. Refusing drugs when your life is in danger is psychotic, not vegan!.

I'm vegan and I didn't hesitate to accept whatever drugs were on offer after I was diagnosed with cancer!. Yes, vegans do get it, it's a random disease whose causes are for the most part unknown!. I wish medicines weren't tested on animals, but I would do the same tomorrow if I had a recurrence!.

I value human life way, way over animal life, and much as I wish there were I'm not convinced that there are credible and reliable alternative ways to test many drugs and procedures!. Sometimes we have to consider the lesser of two evils!.

I find the suggestions of testing on unwilling human beings chilling

Incidentally not all medical research is done on animals!. Drugs have to be tested on humans too, and people with serious ilnesses take part in clinical trials all the time!.

A doctor who contributes to the YA Cancer forum wrote about people with end stage cancer who volunteer for phase one trials of new drugs!. Phase one means the toxicity, efficacy, or the correct dosage for humans is not known!. But people sign consent forms because they know that even though it may well not help them, it may be a help to someone else later on!.

A moving and humbling example of the heroism and unselfishness of which humans are capableWww@FoodAQ@Com

ur horrible how can u even think like that animals are just as important as us we are leval to them shame on uWww@FoodAQ@Com
