Is eating meat not a sin?!
Answers:
eating meat is killing animals that havent even got a chance to live a lifeWww@FoodAQ@Com
a "sin" is an act in defiance of a God!.
If your religion does not consider it a sin, then it is not
If your religion considers it a sin, then it is
If you do not believe in a God, then the concept of sin does not make sense or undefined
Ethics and moral values however, are not solely based on religion!. Acts in defiance of civil laws are also "sins" not against a God but against society and are punishable according the laws codes!. I am not aware of any civil law that prohibits meat eating itself!. However, laws do exist that control and regulate the manner in which meat can be obtained, sold and consumed!. For example, there are regulations as to what animals to farm and where you can raise these animals!. Then laws that regulate how and where they can be killed!. Then how they should be stored etc etc!. Any violation of these civil "commandments" are sins against civil society and are punishable (or at least they should be)as such!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't believe eating meat is a sin!. Jesus ate fish and lamb so!?!?!?!?
I believe Jesus was a person in history but religion is myths & folklore as far as I'm concerned!. Nobody knows why we're here and using made up stories and tales to explain it is certainly outdated at the least!.
I'm not a vegetarian, vegan or christian but I still feel the need to answer your question about vegetarianism and christianity!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Eating meat is not a sin, but the treatment that factory farmed animals are put through is a sin and it is a sin how they slaughter them!. www!.meat!.org
God did put animals on this Earth to eat, however he never intended for them to be so mistreated!. We were not meant to consume meat at every meal and we weren't supposed to be so greedy and gluttonous!.
Factory farms (which make up a huge percentage of today's farms) cut whatever corners they can to make raising animals cheap!.!.!.They are warehoused in tiny cages and chained to walls!. The are kicked around and tortured until the day they get hung upside down to bleed to death!.
The question should be "is torturing animals a sin!?"!. Yes it is!. If anyone were to treat a dog or cat like we as a society treat livestock, they would go to jail!. Even though livestock are animals too they just don't matter to most people!.
When I learned how horrible the meat industry was I stopped eating meat!. I won't support it by buying and consuming meat!. By buying and consuming meat you are supporting cruelty!.!.!.And that is a sin!.
You don't need meat to live!. Plenty of people don't eat any animal products and they are perfectly healthy, even healthier than you!.!.!.We have less of a risk for hearth disease, obesity, and certain cancers!. We suffer from less food poisoning too!.
If Jesus were here right now, I think he would be against factory farming!. He would tell us that was not how animals were intended to be treated!. Jesus would not support cruelty in any way, especially towards an animal that has no way to defend itself!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Fellow peeps of Yahoo Answers are giving you very limited reasoning!. However, I thought I should put in my two cents!.
What's your religion!?
I am not Catholic, I was never baptised as a child, however, I did attend a strict Catholic primary and high school - and I do know that God and Jesus never opposed the consumption of meat!. But if they were around today, living, walking and breathing, and actually witnessed the cruelty and inhumane slaughter of animals in farming and dairy industries, they would deffinitely have different views!. Back in those days they didn't have guns and weapons of mass destruction used to kill animals!. It was fair game back then!. Shooting an animal with a gun is ridiculous!.
Isn't Jesus the mascot for love, peace, and prosperity!? What are the meat and dairy industries promoting!? Slaughter, violence and cruelty!.!.!.
Just a bit of vegan food for thought :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com
