Hello, im considering becoming a vegetarian...?!

Question: Hello, im considering becoming a vegetarian!.!.!.!?
im a teen, so i don't know if its a good idea to do it just yet!. i know plenty of teens do, but i'm afraid i won't be getting the protein and stuff i need if i start now, because i need that more since im still growing!.
how hard is it to be a vegetarian!? i kinda really like meat lol!. but i'd like to do it for animal rights, because i feel hypocritical eating animals when i love them, and apparently vegetarianism also helps with water conservation and such!. plus, its a healthier diet!. maybe i should do it in college, but only gradually, or just rarely eating meat!? can i be a kind of vegetarian or is that stupid and defeating the point!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

That's great you're considering vegetarianism!. I went vegetarian when I was 14 and didn't have any problems!. It's a lot easier than many people imagine!. You can get all of the protein and other nutrients you need by eating a normal variety of vegetarian foods - fruits, veggies, beans, nuts, and grains!. There are fake meats like veggie burgers and veggie "chicken" strips that make it convenient to replace the meat in your favorite meals and recipes!. Just don't live on junk food or starve yourself by eating only salads, and you'll be all set!

It's fine to do it gradually!. Here's a guide to making the transition in one month: http://www!.tryveg!.com/cfi/toc/!?v=06makin!.!.!.

Even if you don't want to go completely vegetarian, you can still have a powerful impact by reducing your meat consumption!. If everyone just cut their meat consumption in half, billions of animals would be spared from suffering!.

also, here's a list of veg foods that are high in protein, iron, and calcium: http://www!.tryveg!.com/cfi/toc/!?v=08sourc!.!.!.

Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a 15 year guy and I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian!. I started out in January as a vegan(I didn't eat any animal products) but now I just don't eat any meat but I still eat dairy and eggs!. Doing it this way is pretty easy as long as you eat plenty of dairy and eggs and you will grow fine!. It's alot more healthier than eating meat and I have way more energy now and I think I look better!. Do some research on lacto-ovo vegetarianism and try it out!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

i am a teen too and i tried to do it, even though i like meat lol!. But i found it really hard since at school the only thing really for a vegetarian is salad and i found i missed how meat tasted after a while!. I think that if you really want to do it you should!. When it comes to adding protein idk, you could ask your doctor, some of them give u shots to substitute the protein from the meats!. You could also start taking vitamins, if you go to a health store you can find protein pills and take those every morning!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A vegetarian or vegan diet is the healthiest!. Go for it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm 15 and i've been vegetarian for over a year now!. First of all if your worried about not getting enough protein and stuff there are plenty of vitamins you can take for that, but i prefer to eat plenty of proteins found in other foods like nuts and such!. & i thought it would be so so hard to be vegetarian but it's not, i loved meat i really did, and it was hard for the first month or so but it grows on you, there's plenty of alternative stuff to eat that taste just as good [depends what brand cuz there is some stuff out there that's just nasty haha] and yes it is a healthier diet, as soon as i became vegetarian it wasn't long before i started seeing things about myself [which i wasn't really planning on happening] like when i started i was almost a size 13 in jeans and i'm currently off and on in size 3's and 5's, my face cleared up a little, i felt happier, and i had more energy!.

hope some of this helped :D good luck in your choice!Www@FoodAQ@Com
