For what reasons people become vegetarians?!

Question: For what reasons people become vegetarians!?
Answers:
Because I can't eat a hamburger and not think about the life I just wasted for my own tastebuds!. I can't eat a hotdog and think about that cute little pig that died for it's taste!. I can't eat a chicken nugget and know that chicken had it's beak cut off, it's feathers scalded off and it's throat slit while it was still alive and breathing!. I can't live the guilt!.

I love animals and I can't eat them, it's too hard!. That's why I'm such a proud vegetarian knowing that I can save animals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are two, possibly three, reasons:

1!. For their own health!. Vegetarians have a lower incidence of cancer and heart related problems because fat in the diet clogs arteries and puts on the pounds!. Fatter people are at greater risk for cancer!.

2!. For ethical reasons!. Most animals have central nervous systems and pain is involved their deaths (some exceptions exist--e!. g!., scallops)!.

3!. For ecological reasons (may be a subordinate reason to numbers 1 and 2)!. It takes more energy and material to fatten animals for slaughter so meat products deplete the resources of the world more than fruits and vegetables!.

There are different kinds and degrees of vegetarianism--some vegetarians eat fish, some don't, some refuse eggs, some refuse cheeses made with animal rennet, etc!. The reasons influence what kind of vegetarian a person is!. Probably some loss of karma is involved in any act of eating, and if so, living is perforce a less ideal state than karmic purity, attainable only after life is over!.

I am a vegetarian for several reasons!. One, I like animals and don't believe we should eat them unless we live in a setting where meat is our biggest source of caloric intake!. In our modern day society, we have hundreds of meat substitutes; ways to get protein!. I also do not eat animals because of the health risks!. Many animals are genetically engineered, and then put in the market without being marked as such!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

For the Environment:
The raising of animals for food is the number one contributor to global warming; it creates more greenhouse gases than all forms of transportation combined!.

For your Health:
Animals in industrial situations are routinely given feed laced with pesticides, to decrease the numbers of insects on their feces- a major problem in factory farms!. They are injected with huge amounts of hormones and antibiotics, and these substances can be found in all cuts of meat!.

Meat eaters have higher rates of type 2 diabetes, heart disease and colon cancer!.

For the Animals:
Veal crates, battery cages, gestation crates, slaughterhouse practices!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are a number of reasons:
1!. Health benefits: there are too many benefits to list!.
2!. Moral: Some believe ALL life is sacred!.
3!. Environmental: Rainforests are destroyed to create grazing land for cows!. Runoff waste from facotry farms destroys and poisons local water supplies and land!.
4!. To prevent starvation: Did you know that half of our water is used to feed cows!? And over half our wheat to feed cows!? Other grains are much more!. So, we would rather feed cows for satisfying our palates than feed people who are dying of starvation!. If we did not feed grain to cows (they naturally eat grass) then it would free up 1 cup of grain per person per day!.
Meat production is inefficient and uses up more vegetable resources and water than it produces!. You need 25 gallons of water to produce a pound of wheat -- 2,500 gallons to generate a pound of meat!. You need 20-30 lbs of grain to produce 1 lb of beef!. I think its more!.!.!.

"Live simply so that others may simply live!."Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are several reason people become vegetarians:

1!. The way the aniamls are treated, they are forced to live in small cages and have very little room!. (Yes I know not all farms are like this)

2!. Animals once were living breathing too!.

3!. Why should they did so we can have a meal

4!. Some do it for moral reasonsWww@FoodAQ@Com

because I simpley love animals!.

Animals cruelty is just unbareable for me to think about!. Animals are used so wastingly!. Places like mcdonalds and taco bell use so much unessary meat a day!. Alot of the meat today isn't even fit to be on the market!.

also!. I believe in all of the religions but I really like buddist and he was a vegetarian and encoraged others to be one to!.

"[Animals] were not made for humans any more than black people
were made for whites or women for men!."

Jesus was not a vegetarian but he did preach to people not to hurt the animals!. In genesis I quote:
Genesis 29
And God said, "Behold, I have given you every seed bearing herb, which is upon the surface of the entire earth, and every tree that has seed bearing fruit; it will be yours for food!.”
That is our food!. Animals are just like everyone else!.

I am one less and I am changing the world
