My boyfriend made some food and it contained tofu, everything was fine until I started biting into..?!

Question: My boyfriend made some food and it contained tofu, everything was fine until I started biting into!.!.!?
the tofu pieces!. My teeth started hurting really bad!. It was a weird pain that I never felt before, but it hurt!. Anyhow, recently I bought some Silk soy milk to try and after tasting it, my teeth and gums started to hurt!. I think I may be allergic to it!. However I eat soy nuts/beans as a snack every once in awhile, and have no weird effects!? I'm not asking for medical advice, just wondering if anyone has had a similar thing happen, and if so was it an allergy to soy!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I am not giving medical advice but this does sound like an allergy!. Soy is a common one too!. The snacks you are talking about are roasted & that make make you have a different reaction, less obivious one but I bet it's still there!.
You do not need soy to be healthy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Teeth pain is not a symptom of a food allergy!. If you have been to the dentist regularly and have no problems in that arena (e!.g if it has been 6 months since your last check up, go in to rule out any tooth or gum issue), then there has to be something else going on!. Do you get stomach or GI issues after ingesting soy products!? If so, then you should talk with you physician about the issue and get tested for a soy sensitivity or allergy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You could be allergic to an additive!. As it is you have no allergies to the actual soybean as a natural product, but you have allergies to soy milk and tofu which are going to have additives, preservatives, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

An allergy to legumes is not uncommon, however it's usually to peanuts!. I don't have such an allergy, however it appears that you do!. Your body is sending you a message, just listen!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No!.

I can only think that the concern is temperature related!. Not food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I doubt if food allergy causes tooth pain!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
