My breakfast consists of a large shake made with soy milk, banana, apple, and cereal!. I would like to cut out the cereal as it is acid forming, but need another source of protein!. Any ideas!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
a good way do add protein to your diet is add some soy protein into your shake!. It's the same thing body builders use but without the milk (whey products)!. This can be found anywhere especially health food stores!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

a slice of toast or bread with peanut butter on it, yogurt with nuts in it, or just a handful of peanuts/walnuts/almonds or whatever kind you want!. Walnuts give you a lot of energy!. the yogurt and nuts would be good!. just get some organic yogurt without any gelatin in it!. I like stonyfield farms, it has 7 grams of protein in it, and then with nuts it would have even more!.

oh sorry, if you are vegan use soy yogurt obviously!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

acid forming!? you mean like you can't tolerate the milk (not cereal)!. Why not have eggs (there are many different ways you can cook those), you could have pancakes, waffles, french toast, toast (plain, with jelly), bran muffins (all kinds!.!.!.carrot, apple, blueberry, zuchini), turnovers, biscuits, but you don't have to stick with those!.!.!.!.people eat left over cake, pizza or spaghetti from the night before!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

eggs are a good source of protein for breakfast!. You may add one to your shake!. Although, I've seen many people do that, there would be a concern of samonella from a raw egg for me!. (I never heard of cereal being "acid forming"!. I would tend to think the apple or banana would be the source of acid)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
