Answers:
Arrrgh, it's the myth that will never die! Have you ever heard of a case of kwashiorkor in any industrialized nation!? Have you even heard the word!? You don't need to worry about protein deficiency!. Even as a vegan, you'll probably get more than you really need!.

Many vegans use plant milks, but preferences vary from person to person!. I don't drink plant milks, but I use unsweetened soy milk for baking and cooking!. When I did drink soy milk, I liked the Chocolate Silk best!. Rice milk and almond milk are okay; almond is a little too sweet for my taste!. I tried oat milk once, and it's kinda creamy!. I tried hemp milk and HATED it, but there are those who like it!.

There are also vegan cheeses, but since I was never a cheese freak, I don't go crazy the way some people do!. I've learned to like my pizzas without cheese!.

There are also vegan ice creams!. The most common is Soy Delicious Purely Decadent, which you should be able to find in some conventional grocery stores, and absolutely at Whole Foods and natural foods stores!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can get your protein from the following items:
almonds
black beans
brown rice
cashews
garbonzo beans
kidney beans
lentils
lima beans
peanut butter
pinto beans
seitan
soybeans
soymilk
sunflower seeds
textured vegetable protein
tofu
veggie dogs & burgers

As a vegetarian (going-on-vegan) I am perfectly fine with milk substitutes!. I drink soy milk, personally!. You can get different flavors of it too: plain, vanilla, and chocolate!. Chocolate is my favorite but the other two taste just fine!. I also get soy icecream called Soy Dream!. I tried rice icecream but found that it didn't taste too good :p I also eat soy yogurt which is delicious! Soy is an excellent source of protein for both vegetarians and vegans!. I suggest you expirement with different milk substitutes (besides soy) and you can figure out for yourself which ones you like the best!. I just happen to like soy :D Good luck and hope I helped!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Between rice and soy milk, I've found soy to be the best!. Most people like Silk milk!. I like Silk chocolate milk, but another brand for vanilla!. You kinda have to try the soy milks out because some are better than others!. There are a lot of them!.

You get protein from beans (most all legumes), spinach, and mushrooms!. Peanuts also carry a ton of protein, but be careful not to eat too many, they have lots of calories!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hmm!.!.!. that's very good you are informed about almond, rice & soy milks!. They usually come in a few flavours (plain, chocolate or vanilla), but ZenSoy makes soymilks in 'cappuccino' flavour as well--yummyness! :D

There is also hazelnut, and oat milk, too!.!.!. which I've found to be scrumptious!. ;)

As far as brands go, try Silk, ZenSoy, or others you see that seem interesting!.

My advice is to experiment with different brands and flavours and choose your own favourite!.!.!. taste is personal, after all!.

Best of luck taste-testing! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm not a vegan myself (just vegetarian) but in a vegan diet pulses - peas, beans and lentils - are a very important source of protein!. also things like tofu and nuts have quite a lot!.

Have a look at this link!.!.!.

Good luck :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have never tried almond milk, but between rice and soy, i like rice best!. Although both are good, rice milk is sweeter and soy takes a little to get used to!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

why the hell would you WANT to become vegan!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
