Are soy-based meat imitators healthy for teens?!
Answers:
Apparently yes, i'm 16 in a few days and have been vegetarian for almost 2 years and i eat the meat immitations all the time, about a month ago i went to the doctor and got a blood sample taken to see if i am getting all my nutrition and!.!.!. guess whatt!?
i'm pertfectly healthy, that really shut up a lot of people who were telling me i wasn't going to be getting what i needed!. The only thing i need more of is B12 and almost EVERYONE needs more b12 but i was still in the healthy range anyway!.
So as long as you're eating other things good for you, don't worry about it, and if you want proof you're doing well, get a blood sample and then a doctor can tell you what you need more!.!.!. or in some cases, less of :)
have fun!

In moderation, yes!. They are lower in fat than real meat and the balance of scientific evidence shows that soy, eaten in moderate amounts, is perfectly healthy!. Faux meats are not something to base an entire diet around; whole foods like fresh produce, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds should be the largert focus of a healthy vegetarian diet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Well, compared to actual animal flesh, yes!. I recently read in the local paper that soy may actually help build strong bones!. Some tofu is processed with calcium salt, so that's the kind you want!.
You don't want a diet of just analogues, but they're certainly not bad for you!. Just look for products that use non-GMO soy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
