Answers:
You need to simmer it longer to reduce the liquid part!. It will also concentrate/intensify the flavor!. That's how you thicken soups, chilis, BBQ sauces etc!.!.!.

also, always make a double batch and freeze some in single meal portions!. In a Ziploc container or something like that you can pop in the micro!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think the longer you slow cook it, the thicker it will become!.

I make mine with tomato sauce (usually ragu), fake beef crumbles (morningstar), mushrooms, peppers, corn, squash, raw or dry roasted peanuts, kidney beens, and a package of chili powder!. I randomly throw in some other vegetables too!.

(the peanuts taste very good when slow cooked all day!)

It seems a little thin even when it's done cooking, but it thickens as it cools some!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I make mine with:

1 lb smart ground
1 large can crushed tomatoes
1 can chili magic

Mine is pretty thick and not watery at all!. It's the tomatoes that make it thick!. Try that!. They are only like $1!.59!. Plus they are really rich!.

I hope that helped!. I guess you could also experiment around with cornstarch!.!.!.just add a little at a time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Masa flour, cornstarch, or arrowroot will thicken it a bit!. Mix any of the three ( about 2 T ) with 1 T water in a bowl, then slowly pour it into the chili, stirring it it!.

Works best if the chili is warm!.

You can also add in a bit of mashed potato!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

finely grated carrots are a great natural sweetener, and thickener, for chili & spaghetti sauce !.!.!.!.!.also, you could mash some silken tofu and whisk it in, but it will lighten the color of the chiliWww@FoodAQ@Com

I know you want to make your own chili but, Hormel has some really good vegetarian chili that is thick!. Personally I have to have meals that are quick and easy and Hormel's chili is very good!. You should try some!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
