If you are thinking about oil, you can ask simple questions like "What oil do you fry in!?" and "Do you fry meat in the same oil as the fries!?"

Don't worry!! There's no need to panic about the fries that you ate last weekend!. Just make changes and ask those simple questions!. Undoubtedly there are going to be times when an animal product is lurking in your food!. Don't make a big deal of it though, you can send it back if you want!.

Watch out for things with gelatin, lecithin (unless it's soy), glycerin (unless it says veg!. glycerin), lard, whey, casein, albumen, eggs, etc!.

If you go to a store, make sure you are checking all ingredients for anything suspicious!.

Yes thats definetly something you have to consider when you eat out!. Alot of oils they fry/season potatos in have a good chance of having some kind of derived animal product in them!. Next time you eat out just ask what they use!. It shouldn't be a problem!.

And dont hold it against yourself if there was!. You did not know! Just make it a lesson learned type of thing and move on!. It sounds like you've got a strong heart in being a vegan and thats all that matters! Mistakes are bound to happen!. Just brush it off and make it a note for next time!.!.lesson learned!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

a lot of candies (nerds rope, starburst, some gums)have gelatin in them, so watch out for that

most poptars also have gelatoin in them, only the unfrosted ones are vegan, but always read the inggredients first

fig newtons have whey in them, as do most flavored pringles

for right now thats all that comes to mind but if I think of anything else ill tell youWww@FoodAQ@Com

this website is for food ok to eat for jewish and muslims!. they both don't eat pork products and insects!. this will show you stuff that has animal products not only pork!. i hope this help!.

eggs , or anything that's made of animals or any thing that is a animal part to mack anythingWww@FoodAQ@Com

fries are fried in lard some times
sorry hun you might have messed up
it's okay!.!. being vegan is about progress not perfectionWww@FoodAQ@Com

Most U!.S!. restaurants do not use lard for frying anymore -- they do, however, use the same oil to fry chicken, etc!. that they use to make french fries!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Some fries are deep fried in LARD, which is pig fat!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You are basically going to have to ask three things any time you order fried potatoes/veggies/etc!.

1)What kind of oil is it fried in!?
2)Is there a coating or breading, and what does it contain!?
3)Do you also fry any animal products in the same oil!?

For example, I worked at McDonald's long before becoming vegan and KNEW for a fact they used Peanut oil to fry the french fries, and that they were strictly cooked in a seperate vat, so I ate them!. After a little research online I discovered that McDonald's coats their fries with BEEF FAT at the factory before they are frozen and sent to the restaurant!.

It's really hard eating on the go, I was a truck driver before I had my baby, so I know!! Don't consider yourself a failure if you've accidentally eaten something less than appetizing!. It's not your fault, and you'll definatly get the hang of it!. Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't know the place you're talking about, but I know Mc Donalds fries aren't vegan!. I can't remember if it's the oil or some kind of stock put on it!. Generally, I avoid fast food places, because I'm strict as well and I'm not comfortable with taking the chance!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
