Should all of my protesters be vegetarian!. What are the laws!? PLEASE HELP!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hey there :)

The purpose of the protest is to inform people about the abuses that KFC is allowing, and also to persuade people to boycott KFC!. Your protesters don't need to be vegetarian!. Remember you're not asking people to go vegetarian (although that would be great!) -- you're just asking people to boycott KFC!.

You can tell people things like:

-Chickens killed for KFC's buckets have their throats slit and are scalded to death in hot water tanks!.

-The birds’ legs and wings often break because workers carelessly shove them into transport crates and shackles!.

-Controlled Atmosphere Killing is the least cruel form of animal slaughter ever developed!. But KFC refuses to buy meat from companies that use this type of slaughter!.

-KFC lets frustrated factory-farm and slaughterhouse workers handle live birds, so many of the animals end up being sadistically abused!.

-KFC’s own animal welfare advisors have asked the company to take steps to eliminate these abuses, but KFC refuses to do so!.

-KFC in Canada has already agreed to make animal welfare improvements!. We just want KFC in the U!.S!. to make the same changes!.

-We're asking people to boycott KFC until KFC puts an end to the worst abuses!.

-Check out KentuckyFriedCruelty!.com for more info!. (It's good to give people a website so they can learn more)

PETA doesn't have an office in Florida, but you can definitely contact PETA with any questions or concerns you have!.

Good luck!

EDIT:
I was giving sound bites for a protest, not an essay on the mistreatment of chickens for KFC restaurants!. PETA wants KFC to buy meat from companies that use mechanized chicken-gathering machines as opposed to manual methods of chicken gathering!. Studies show that using manual methods results in four times as many broken legs, more than eight times as much bruising, and increased stress!. Currently, the chickens slaughtered for KFC are handled by workers, which enables workers to take their frustrations out on the animals!.

Multiple investigations into KFC's suppliers in multiple states have revealed sadistic abuses of chickens!. ( http://kfccruelty!.com/u-undercover!.asp )!. If KFC would switch to suppliers that use mechanized gathering of chickens, these abuses could largely be prevented!. Switching to controlled-atmosphere killing would also eliminate worker contact with live animals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should really know what you're protesting before you decide you want to protest!.

The campaign against KFC is for better animal welfare practices!. It's not meant to shut down their business!. It's just so that animals that KFC buys from suppliers will be treated better than they are from Tyson and Pilgrim's Pride Foods (their current suppliers)!.

Get as many people as you can to protest with you!. You can always protest alone but it's more effective with a larger crowd!.

People aren't opposed to better animal welfare standards!. Therefore, meat-eaters can protest too to get better treatment for the chickens that they eat!. I believe the laws are that you have to stay on city property, like the sidewalk!. You cannot protest in front of their doors unless you want to get arrested!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Why are you planning a protest against a company when you have no idea what you are protesting!? I certainly can appreciate your vegetarian beliefs (I have several in my family), but I have to question your motives!.

Are you seeking publicity!? Do you just not like KFC!? Why KFC!?

I will support your right to protest something if you disagree with it, but it seems that you can't even decide what it is that you disagree with!.

Additional note!.!.!. I am not being mean, or being a troll by any means, so the "thumbs down" isn't necessarily warranted!. What I am trying to say is to think this through and have a reason for your actions!. And this is true for ANY protest, whether food-related or not!.

Second additional note!.!.!. Orange (and some other posters) has some very good points for vegetarians and non-vegetarians!. The specifics of the cruelty to animals should provide some serious thought for all!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

So, you want to protest, but you don't know why!? Doesn't make sense to me!.

Most KFC protests are just in support of treating chickens more humanely!. It's unrealistic to expect every KFC to close down and everyone to live in a happy-go-lucky vegan world!. It would be nice, but realistically, it won't happen!. They were successful in Canada, so why can't it work here!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hey Orange, slow down the propaganda machine!.!.!.!.LOL!.!.!.!.!.just cause PETA says things doesn't make them true!

"-KFC lets frustrated factory-farm and slaughterhouse workers handle live birds, so many of the animals end up being sadistically abused!."---nonsense!. How does KFC let the workers do anything when they don't work for KFC!?!? It's true a couple of bad eggs were abusing the birds!. There's bad eggs in all industries!. Bad cops!. Stock market cheats!. Dirty CEOs!. You act as if every worker is abusing the birds as if you know it to be true!. By your line of thinking, we're all trolls here because there is trolling done here!.

The purpose of protesting is to get out a message without getting arrested!. But outright lying or purveying info!. that may not be factual is wrong!. Good luck with both!.

I'm neither a vegetarian, vegan or protest scholar!. My OCD forces me to answer questions!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

1!. i would just protest about their animal cruelty!. you wont be able to shut down their global muti billion dollar industry, but you CAN make a difference on how they treat their animals!!!

2!. peta tried to make them be less cruel to them!.

3!. omg, this should help you a TON!!!

hope i helped!!! : )Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you don't know what your doing, and it doesn't sound like you do, you will end up in jail!. All it takes is one call to the police from a KFC manager to get you arrested for trespassing, or creating a public nuisance!.
Why not get involved with an animal rescue shelter in your area instead!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well i dont think they would ever shut down, but i know how to get them to loose alot of buisenness!.
go into a kfc!.!.!.!.!.orders some food, put something nast in it and start a big ordeal!. lso maybe a video cqmera and secretly video tape people preparing the food!.
you could also say in ur prostet!.!.!.kfc probably wastes millions of meat every year in america!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

About how HORRIBLE they abuse chickens!Www@FoodAQ@Com
