VEGETARIANS: Can you help me out? I need some good advice.?!

Question: VEGETARIANS: Can you help me out!? I need some good advice!.!?
What are some different options for a good and healthy dinner each night!? I don't eat much during the day, but I love my fulfilling, tasty dinners!. What are some good meals for dinner!. I try to avoid preservatives and weird chemicals as much as possible!.
*P!.S!. If you love animals and are intersetd in the rights movement, you should check out the film, "Your Mommy Kills Animals"!. It is interesting and a must for animal lovers and PETA investigaters!.

Is a protein shake for breakfast every day before work healthy in your opinion!? It has lots of carbs and protein and some weird chemicals I don't trust, but it works good and I stay strong during the day!.

What are your favorite snack foods that are vegan!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Nana's cookies, favorite snack!.

For dinners I like a huge (10 cup) salad!. With everything in it!. Blk olives, radish, avocado, red and green peppers, celery, cukes, tomato, broccoli, snap beans, sugar snap peas, corn, cabbage, scallions, carrots, fresh herbs, and toasted pine nuts!. Sometimes also kohlrabi, turnip, edamames, etc!. And another item like a veg burger or pasta or baked or sauteed squash, or sweet potato!. Very not complicated!. And air-popped popcorn for dessert!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i love veggie burgers! good, healthy, vegan snacks are nuts, fruits and vegies (duh), crackers (peanutbutter optinal but not as heathy!.!.!. a nice splurge if you are on a diet), and whetever else you can think of! be creative and the possibilites are endless! wait, where can we find this film you are talking about!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are lots of yummy pastas and soups!. Thats what I eat mostly, along with salads and other things!. And protein shakes are good for you!. Try to make your own out of fruit and juice in a blender!. And there are tons of good snacks! Just go to the grocery store and you will seeWww@FoodAQ@Com

I love vegetarian meats, especially by Morning Star!. They're really healthy and very tasty! I like to eat them with fresh veggies, and it makes a very filling meal!.

What a lot of the other people suggested were good ideas too!. =) Good luck though!Www@FoodAQ@Com

when you eat fruits and veges, they only take 1 hour to digest and compared to meat products that take 3days!! I went to yoga
classes a couple months back and my instructor told me so!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have eddamame every day!. Tofu is great too!. Try frying it in terrakki!. I live on eddamame and fruit!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well being a vegatarian is cool and all but i could neverrrrrr do it i love meat too much =]Www@FoodAQ@Com

You really should go and get some books on this subject!. It is much easier than you think!. also check out Christina cooks!.com!. I bought a book that was all about trail cooking in the 70's and it came in handy during our hike on the Appliacian trail!. If I cannot pronounce what is in our food, I certainly won't eat it!
also, you can make your own protien shakes using Tofu and other fruits especialy banannas for carbohyraares and Potassium, yes, it is very good for you!. First, try it on your day off in case your tummy don't agree with it!. Don't forget Yogurt!. One more thing, not eating during the day and eating so much at night will make you gain weight, you are fooling your body, so balance your meals right, main source in Soybeans, it is the only food that inceases in protien when it is cooked, all others, lose protien!. Eat different foods during the day, it is not necessary to eat a high protien diet all the time!. Beans are wonderful! Learn to make sesame seed burgers, they need to be ground up in a processor, and other things, so much out there!. Ans you will feel better!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here are some ideas for dinner:
~black bean (soft) tacos!. add your fave veggies to the black beans like tomatoes, onion, green pepper, jalapeno, etc!. you can also cook up some brown rice to add to the mix to make it ever heartier!. then top with banana peppers, salsa, taco sauce, cheese (if you eat it)!.!.!.whatever suits your fancy!
~spaghetti, (meatless) meatballs and garlic bread
~veggie stir fry!. i cook some brown rice and tofu!. i then use a bag of frozen veggies that are "asian" or "stiry-fry" style and mix together!. quick, easy and filling!
~stuffed green peppers!. this one really fills me up!. i use brown rice and the traditional stuffing (like tomatoes, soy cheese and soy ground beef), but sometimes i'll use quinoa, sauteed mushrooms, carrots, green peppers and tomatoes!. either way is yummy!.
~baked sweet potato, steamed veggie of choice and tossed salad!. the potato is extremely filling and good for you!. this is one of my favorite, easy meals!.
~veggie soups!. depending on the type, they can be REALLY filling!. eat a tossed salad and some crusty bread along with it and you're good to go!.

A protein shake is all right, but they usually say right on the container that it should not be used as meal substitute or for attempting to attain a certain caloric intake!. I drink soy protein shakes in the morning only because I work out (and lift heavy) before coming to work!. After the shake, I still eat solid food!. If you exercise a lot, I'd say that the shake is fine!. If you don't, I'd suggest that you carve out the time for a healthy breakfast!. If you're worried about the ingredients, you should go to a health food store!. Their assortment of protein shakes should have a good range from whey to vegan!.!.!.lots of flavors, protein amounts and organic, good-for-you ingredients! That's where I found mine!.

My fave vegan snacks: baby carrots, green pepper strips and hummus, rice cakes, Soy Delicious dairy-free frozen treats, low-sodium tortilla chips and natural salsa, fresh fruit, any homemade vegan dessert (like oatmeal raisin cookies, cupcakes, etc!.)!.
Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
