"So Delicious" is a good brand of dairy-free ice cream!. You should be able to find it at major supermarkets like Wal-Mart, Kroger's, Safeway, etc!. (Health food stores like Whole Foods should definitely have it!.)

About your family, do your research about vegan nutrition in advance so you'll be prepared to discuss this with them!. This site lists good vegan sources of protein, iron, and calcium: http://www!.tryveg!.com/cfi/toc/!?v=08sourc!.!.!.

Offer to help your parents with meal planning and cooking, and try to address their concerns in a calm way!. (You could offer to meet with a nutritionist if they're really worried about nutrition!.) Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If your parents aren't totally supportive now it will be harder when you go vegan!. It's the same with my family!. We always go to steak house and stuff!. I'm 15 too and thinking about going vegan or atleast lacto vegetarian when I move out lol!

If you do decide to go vegan you can get sides or a salad!. Theren is Italian ice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

im 15 too and just went vegan some weeks ago, and i live with all meatheads, i know what you mean, my whole family assumes all i want to eat is salad now haha, your just gonna have to learn to cook for yourself, and be openminded to new foods so you make sure you get in all your nutrients, just ask for what vegan foods they have when you go out, or ask them to take out whats not vegan,

thats a really helpful site

ps!. i wouldnt be worrying about dessert but the main dishWww@FoodAQ@Com

Hello! I'm 15 and went vegan about 6 months ago, and was a vegetarian for 5 years!. When i go out to a restaurant like Outback i usually check the menu online before i go!. Make sure the there are side dishes you can eat in a worst case scenarios like baked potato's and salads!. There are almost always veggie/black bean burgers in chain restaurants, and french fries with a side of veggies is okay once in awhile!. Italian ice is great for dessert when you go out for dessert, or SO delicious "ice cream!." Just check labels for hidden things like gelatin and honey!. My parents freaked out when i went vegan, but if you know your facts when you explain it to them that will help!. I take a powerfull multivitamin and flax seed oil daily which helps you get b vitamin, unsaturated fats, and other things you might be lacking!. also Whole Foods market is a great place to shop because it has a lot of meat-alternative soy based products, but regular health food stores are good too! Just be patient with your family and have great will power!. Good luck!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

OK when you go vegan you don't get all your nutrients, god put animals on this earth to eat, and being vegan is ridiculous, my brother had a g/f who was supposedly vegan but yet she said she couldn't taste anything that tasted like meat so she changed her mind, if you want to be vegan don't go to outback with your family, b/c you might cry when they eat a cow!!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
