Is it immoral to kill any creature whatsoever unless it is absolutely necessary for ones survival?!
Obviously this has dietary implications!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Yes!. Why would a "rational" person actually want to end a living creatures' life just to satisfy a basically harmful desire to eat flesh!?
All the pretty, packaged processed meats in the super-squeeky clean grocery store contain dead flesh of a slaughtered creature!. How many happy shoppers would have taken an ax to the living, breathing, blood coursing through it's veins creature and cut it all too pieces to have a nice little pork chop!? I think most people would choose a diet less centered on dead flesh if they had to take the animals life themselves!.
It amazes me at the QUANTITY of meat/fish/fowl consumed today compared to 50 years ago!. Amazing, staggering figures thanks to fast-food & just plain silly notions regarding dietary needs!. Hurts our arteries, hurts the planet!.
It's far better to lay your plate full of vegetables, grains and pulses that benefit the cells in your body, are easy to digest and clean out your colon!.
Why are our intestines long, like an herbivore!? We don't have short little intestines like that of carnivores, nor do we have teeth meant to tear flesh!. A bleesing to us to be ABLE to consume dead flesh if needed, but a poor choice to fuel your body!.
Many arguements from flesh-eaters, but facts are facts!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

As people have said morality willvary from person to person so I will tell you my view!. Mine is based solely on my religion, Catholicism, now it says (i cant remember any specific verses) that after the flood God said it was possible to eat animals!. For those who say the commandments say not to kill, animals were just made but man had God`s breath of life inside of him so the commandment only applies to humans since it would be defacing God`s image!. So in short to your question NO unless the animal will not be used and will be killed in vain!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Yes! When it comes to animals!. If you dont have to kill them then it is wrong if you do!. But "any creature whatsoever"!.!.!.i dont know!. I mean do like spiders and flies count!?!? I am a HUGE lover of animals and believe strongley in animal rights!. I dont even like to kill bugs!.!.!.but we all swat at flies and step on spiders dont we!? So i dont think its immoral to kill any CREATURE whatsoever unless it is absolutely necessary for ones survival, but i do think it is immoral to kill any ANIMAL whatsoever unless it is absolutely necessary for ones survival!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
i agree with those who are saying that morality is going to vary!.
for example, native americans believe that is is immoral to kill an animal if you aren't going to use every part possible!. it is dishonoring the animal to let any part go to waste!. that view is not necessarily "wrong"!.!.!.!.!.in fact, it's very respecful to the life that was taken!.
it doesn't fit with my morals to purposefully kill animals for food or other reasons, but to say that others are making the wrong decision based on cultural and religious differences is not a stance i'm willing to take!.
there are other areas, though, where i would take a heavier stance!. for example, hunting for sport (and not consumption) i believe is ENTIRELY immoral!.
it's all relative!.
EDIT: A Random Stranger- I didn't say I oppose hunting!.!.!.!.!.I said I oppose hunting for SPORT!. If someone is hunting for consumption I think that is actually more compassionate than buying factory farmed meat!. Hunting for sport is when people hunt just for the sake of the kill and do not use the animal's body for consumption!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think no!. When ever we wash our hands, we're killing millions of bacteria and fungi on our hands (but are they creatures!?)!. Would you refuse to put down a pet in pain!? Frankly, just as long the creature has a good life and dies humanely (no excess pain), I think it isn't immoral!.
And for those who oppose hunting: Is it any better to eat commercially raised animals!? Sure, they die a "humane" death without any fear, but they have probably never been free outside!. also, the conditions they live in are horrible!. They are over packed and have to be fed antibiotics 24/7!. Chickens are egg machines, and the cages are so small, they can't stretch out their wings!. Cows eat corn instead of grass!. Pigs have part of their tails removed, often without anesthesia!.
Edit: And those who believe yes would be practicing Jainism!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i have been told to talk to animals
E!.G!. a fly tell him to leave tell him if you do not leave immeadiatlly i will have to anhialate you and if the flie doesnot leave you will have to kill it and wish him that he reincarnates into something better!.!.!.why!?
because killing is the first instinct of an animal we the "humans" are capable of thinking and establishing contace with Every being from plants to animals try it (practice with the flies it would do the least harm)Www@FoodAQ@Com

lets say a lion attacks u and u gotta gun to kill him then u should kill it and its not wrong because its for ur survival same with eating a animal if ur starving and have no choice but to eat meat then its not wrong!.!.!.!.its wrong u can survive without killing the animal and the matter of fact vegetarians are healthier then y shud u kill the animal for ur tasteWww@FoodAQ@Com
I would eat grass and plants before i would murder an animal to eat it no matter how ravenous hungry i am because i couldnt imagine gutting it and cleaning it seems so wrong just look at when they have to kill things to eat on survivor like the chickens and stuff i couldntWww@FoodAQ@Com
"Whatsoever" means absolutely !. that is hard to buy!.but killing just for the heck of it , I 'd say :that is immoral!.some creatures are fatal to human such as scorpions & alike!.would U tap a scorpion's back!? open Ur chest for Coral Gable's mosquito!?or let a fly stand on Ur apple pie!? it's a Y & N answer, because it depends!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I believe it is immoral to kill any animal at any time even if it is for ones survival but if the animal is suffering and no longer enjoying their life than that animal should be put down because i consider that torture and abuse to an animal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
It's immoral in my eyes!. But everyone has a different notion of what morality means to them!. Some don't care about how animals are treated and aren't morally opposed to the suffering of another being!. I, on the other hand, am!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
no its not!.!.!.cause if we break the food cycle it can change half of how us people live!.!.!.cause imagine how many cows pigs etc will live if we dont eat them!.!.!.they might even beat the population of the people in the world!.!.!.cause animals give birth to tons of babies!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If your talking about cows, its simple, I don't eat vegetables so the killing of cows is necessary for my survivalWww@FoodAQ@Com
I find it immoral to kill an animal for anything other than consumption!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
No it isn't!. If it were, no one would be able to eat anything because all foods include "creature" deaths of one kind or another!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
any "creature"!? !.!.!.!.!.!. I sure wouldn't hesitate to swat a fly, mosquito or bee that was bothering me!Www@FoodAQ@Com
It's wrong to kill for fun, but if it's for food purposes then it's okay!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Either way its immoral!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Not according to my Divinely inspired sense of morality!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Morality is subjective!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think that goal would be impossible!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
No it is not, if its about food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I'm not sure about this one!.!.!.when I read your question, I read it in the scope of ALL animals - not just the ones commonly used for food!.
My first thought actually went to my cat Maddie!. If she was suffering or in utter pain due to a terminal illness, I would have her put down!. There's no reason for her to live her life in duress!. Of course it has nothing to do with MY survival, but I think it would be the humane thing to do!.
As far as "edible" creatures are concerned, I would absolutely consider it immoral to take the life of an animal for pure pleasure (be it to "sport" of hunting, for food, etc!.)!.
Okay!. (sigh) I'm ready for the thumbs down!. I can take it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
