Answers:
Vegans don't believe that animals should suffer for them, so dairy and eggs are out!. The animals don't die as a direct result of producing eggs or milk, but they are kept under extremely inhumane conditions while they are producing and are eventually slaughtered for food when they can no longer earn their keep!.

In both dairy and egg operations, males are of no value!. a cow has to be kept constantly pregnant to keep up her milk production and the inevitable result of that is calves!. Baby girls are raised to follow their mothers into milk production, but the baby boys are useless so they are sold to the veal crates, where they live short tortured lives being starved in a box too small to move around in!. In an egg operation, the eggs sold for food are unfertilized but they have to allow a certain percentage to become fertilized to keep producing new hens!. Half the chicks born are males and they are killed as soon as they are sexed, tens of millions of them a year, either by being tossed alive into a grinder or being suffocated in garbage bags!.

That doesn't even go into the conditions the cows and hens have to endure!. Battery cages, rape racks, steroids, hormones and antibiotics are the tools used to keep them producing more than nature ever intended for them!. Dairy cows should live to be 20+ but they are used up and worn out by age 5, so are slaughtered for cheap beef!.

Vegans avoid these foods because they don't want to contribute to cruelty to these animals and because dairy and eggs are not a necessary part of a healthy diet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

People go vegan for the same reason that they go vegetarian!. (Well, people who have done enough research, at least!.) The killing of animals isn't the only ethical qualm most vegetarians and vegans have with the meat industry!.

1!.) Most farms mass-produce their product, be it flesh, eggs, or milk!. In many commercial farms, efficiency and output are the most important factors!. Therefore, the animals aren't always given the opportunity to live as they would instinctually!.

2!.) Plenty of vegans are less than thrilled about the fate of some of the bi-products of the dairy and egg industry!. The male animals that are born aren't useful for producing (eggs or milk) and are generally sent off to be eaten as meat!.

3!.) Many of the environmental problems that come from the meat industry also apply to the dairy and egg industry!. Having so many animals in one place can do a number on the groundwater!. While the animals aren't driven to the slaughterhouse as often, energy is still used to get them enough food and water to live!. Energy is also required to move the products from the farm to the store!.

4!.) There are health and taste preferences here, too!. A lot of people have sensitivities to dairy!. A lot of people would rather avoid cholesterol!. In short, dairy and eggs aren't totally NEEDED for survival and it's entirely possible that some people either prefer the taste of alternatives or enjoy the health benefits!. (Or both!)

Out of curiosity, why do you want to go vegan!? With the possible exception of "losing weight" or "making my parents mad" or "being different," there really aren't any BAD reasons to go vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I just thought it might be worth saying that if you just want to go vegan so you can say you are vegan then you probably should not bother!. When I went vegan it was because I already knew that the dairy industry etc was bad and I knew why I should not be eating those products!. I am interested to know why you might want to become vegan if you are not already aware of those things!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

The industries are all connected!. Cattle raised for the dairy industry live through horrible cruelty before being killed!. Drinking the milk of a cow is senseless anyway!.!.!.it is made for a cow, not a human!. If you were to have a cow in your backyard and you milked it, that may not be a horrible thing, although why not just milk your dog!? But to drink milk from the dairy industry is supporting the hole thing!. The animal industries in the U!.S!. are so large and concentrated and powerful, they fill everyones heads with propaganda!. The truth is: most humans do not drink cows milk at all!. It is cruel, unnatural, unhealthy and just plain pointless!. Every female mammal produces milk for their offspring!. It is essentially nothing more than baby formula!. After a certain age (about 2), you shouldn't even drink the milk of your own species, let alone a bovine! The enzyme in your digestive tract (lactase, i think) that breaks down the lactose in your system normally disappears after 2 years old or so!. With most western white people nowadays, it seems that this enzyme stays into adulthood, enabling them to
digest the lactose carb!. Not having this enzyme is "lactose intolerance", which of course is a actually normal!. The dairy industry spends billions every year keeping people blind to the whole obvious truth!. Even doctors should not be trusted!. Anyway, If you want to go vegan, I recommend it!. Just make sure to educate yourself!. A great book to read is "the food revolution" by John Robbins!.!.!.or any of his books i suppose!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because the dairy industry is just that: an industry!. Cows are viewed as "production units"!. Any animal that is not productive (i!.e!. male/old/weak) is killed!. The ultimate fate of dairy cows is death, not retirement!.

By consuming dairy you support an industry that is directly responsible for killing individual sentient beings!.

This is not even mentioning the hellish torture inflicted upon these animals while they are alive, the environmental impact of dairying, and how bad dairy products are for your health!.

Go vegan my friend, its worth it :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Actually the dairy cows and chickens ARE killed!. Onced the dairy cows get exhausted after months of constantly being milk, and are about to die, they are sent to be slaughtered!. And it doesn't really matter to me if they're killed or not (well, it does, but that's not why I'm vegan)!. I'm vegan because of how horribly they are treated, and the conditions they live in!. Again dairy cows have milking machines hooked onto their utters constantly, and their male babies are sent to veal factories!. They live in cramped pens and hardly ever breathe clean air!. If you want to know more, I would watch "Earthlings"!. It's a free 90 minute documentary (YouTube), and it will change they way you look at everything!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The dairy industry is more cruel than the meat industry!. Animals are kept alive longer to suffer to an even higher degree!.

Calves are never allowed to nurse with their mothers and are fed cheap formula from a rubber nipple instead!.

Virtually all males that are born are forced to live in a small crate with chains that prevent them from moving and using their muscles!.

The dairy industry is motivated by profit, they will do whatever cuts costs to maximize capital gains!. They don't care about the animals as farmers once did!. There are far too many animals to care for in today's fast-paced, high demand society!.

http://www!.farmsanctuary!.org/issues/fact!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Consuming dairy products supports the veal and beef industry!. Cows are impregnated annually to keep the milk flowing!. The boy calves are used for veal!. If you don't know what veal is, it's something worth googling!. The female calves become new milk cows!. Either way they are taken away from their Mother just days after they are born!.!.!.They don't get to stay and enjoy their Mother's warmth and the milk that was meant for them!. They cry for their Mothers and

When milk cows milk production slows because of their age, they are slaughtered for beef!. That is where most fast food beef comes from!. Often the cows cannot walk into the slaughter house because their legs are so weak from carrying so much weight!.

Milk cows are given hormones that force them to produce 2-3 times more milk than they would naturally!. Then they are hooked up to painful milking machines to suck it out!. The suction from the milking machines causes injuries to their udders which cause infections!. The infections result in there being pus in the milk!.!.!.also blood!. All milk has a certain percentage of pus and blood in it!. There a rules about how much pus and blood can be in milk sold in stores!. I can assure you though that there is pus and blood in every glass of milk!.

Soy milk has all of the nutrition as cow's milk!.!.!.only without the pus, blood, and cruelty!. Cow's milk is for baby cows, not humans!.

There is much more information available at the websites I have provided!.

I hope I have helped you understand more:)Www@FoodAQ@Com

You're still in those conventional years!. A normal cow's lifespan is 25 years!. Modern dairy industry raise cows for both dairy & meat!. After manipulating & maximizing the dairy production from 4 to 5 times within 10 years time, these cows are being sent to slaughterhouse!. Therefore for those supporting the dairy industry are knowingly supporting the veal industry as well!.

I say, it is against the nature!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because milking hurts, too!. Cows are kept in small stalls for their entire lives and forced to breed in order to keep the milk flowing!. After they give birth, they are separated from their calves and hooked up to machines until they can't give anymore milk!. Not very nice, if you ask me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because it is closely linked in with the meat industry and the killing of innocent animals, and because of the conditions the animals are kept in!.

And ALL vegans don't have dairy products-otherwise they wouldn't be a vegan/Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because it, like honey, still is an animal byproduct and takes away from the health of the animal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it takes away from the animal's health!. visit peta2!.com for more!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
