Answers:
The very 1st time I read it, I thought it was very funny and witty!.

The 147th time I saw it on this site, I wanted to scream!.

Most people on this site are asking it from a jokey troll perspective but it could potentially be classed as a serious question, since some brands of animal cracker biscuits have shortening in them!.

Shortening is traditionally the word which referred to any solid fat, including butter, lard and suet!. Lard is the rendered fat of a pig, so obviously unsuitable for vegetarians and vegans!.

These days shortening can also refer to solid fat made from vegetable oil and this version would be suitable for vegetarians!.

So to answer people seriously, just tell them to read the ingredient label correctly on the animal cracker biscuits or contact the biscuit manufactures, if the shortening is lacking a proper explanation!.

Otherwise, just grit your teeth and pass on to the next question!. If people stop rising to the troll bait, they will eventually get bored and stop asking the question!.

I used to get really frustrated when that question came up multiple times a day, but at some point I just stopped noticing it!. My current pet peeve is that people ask the difference between vegetarian and vegan multiple times a day!. At least that's a serious question, but when you ask a question YA shows similar questions and I don't know why people don't just look at those for their answer!.

No one has ever asked me about animal crackers in real life!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, and I am not even a vegetarian or a vegan!. It is just people who are laboring under the misconception that they are funny - or something to that effect!. That question is as bad as the "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop!?" I always want to answer with a 'Who cares,' but with my luck I would get my answer deleted!. Both questions appear quite frequently throughout Food and Drink - more so when school is out!.

yes, it annoys me sooo much i want to SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!

im so glad someone feels the same because this issue riles me!!!

It is pretty obvious that if you chose to be a vegetatian then you SHOULD know what you can and cant eat, for example its like saying 'can i eat fish!?'Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just ignore them!. That's more effective than answering, because it makes them feel stupid for asking such a dumb question!. They're just trying to be funny, but if you don't laugh at their jokes, that usually puts and end to it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think these people who ask this are just dumb!. They obviously don't know what a vegetarian is!. Is an animal cracker any form of product made from animals!.!. no!. they are dumb!. just ignore them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well!.!. I still wonder whether vegetarians can eat Goldfish crackers!.!.!.

Oh, the contradictions!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes!.!.!.!."come on their just animal crackers!.!.!.it has nothing animal in it!.!.!." lol!.!.!.i know i am funny! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I say "can meat eaters eat meat!?" because its basically asking us if we can eat something that is meat free!. Or just kick them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm new to this section but it sounds like funny question!!
I know its disrespecting believes but its still funny!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not yell, but yes, it is annoying!. I've seen it every now and then when I'd stop by in this section!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If I do not see that question at least every other day it makes me feel like posting it!. Why is it so hard for many to ignore such questions!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ignore them!. They're idiots who disrespect your beliefs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yeah, its so crazy!. people!. i wonder if they are just trying to be funny, or just plain dumb!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
