Question: Does anyone ever search the V/V section for answers to their questions before posting another duplicate questi
It just seems like I see the same questions every time I log in here!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
No!.!.!.!.!.!.people don't like having to do their own research!.!.!.!.in fact, that's what Yahoo Answers is based on!. People don't want to look anything up for themselves if they can post a question and get 20 replies in a hour listing websites, books, and other sources (among plenty of misinformation as well)!. I rarely ask questions anymore because most of them have been asked already, but very rarely there is something that either hasn't been addressed or was addressed poorly in the past!.
I do get tired of the, "What type of vegetarian am I!?" questions as well as the, "What do vegetarians eat for protein!?" classic!. It probably takes longer for people to ask those than it would to just do a quick web search!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think some people are not even aware of the "Search" feature!.Or maybe they have searched but the answer they are looking are is not mentioned or they are not satisfied with what they have read!.
Frankly, I think some questions are asked with an answer already known but are asked anyway to :validate their own ideas, get a consensus, put down other people or the funniest and lamest reason of all, get themselves "stars" and retain their "Top Contributor" tags or whatever!. I know of one poster who seems to have a "topic of the week" and asks the same questions about a particular sub topic almost obssesively!. Funny cos this peson's ideas just seem to parrot other peoples ideas down to the last punctuation mark!.
keeps repeating the most popular "answer" to a question to go with the flow so to speak!.

Clearly not, or "what is the difference between vegetarian and vegan!?" wouldn't be asked at least four times a day!.

You don't even need to search!. I hadn't asked a question in a long time, so I tried it out the other day!. I typed in the question above and, lo and behold, a list of similar questions popped up automatically!. I don't get why people don't say to themselves, "Great, my question has already been asked!. I'll check some of these out and see if they tell me what I want to know!."Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hi Charlie,

You are right, the search facility seems rarely used!.

In fact, many of the questions asked on here can be quickly answered with a general search engine, particularly factual answers like "is product xyz vegetarian !?"

Hence the reason people give up thier participation after a while, the repetative nature gets a bit old!.

and i haven't checked with the search engine, but you may wish to know YOUR question has been asked quite a few times as well !!

EDIT, OK, i gave in!.!.!.!.!.your question has been asked 25,728 times before !!!!!!!! Feel free to shrink away in an embarassed manner ;-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would not repost a q!. if it was on the first page but people come and go here so maybe someone else has the answer that I was looking for!. If you get tired of reading a duplicate q!. no one is forcing you to acknowledge it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Definitely not! People never do!. That's why the same questions are posted over and over and over!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I doubt it!. If one more person asks whether vegans can eat animal crackers!.!.!. well, I'll give them the same answer I always do!. "No!."Www@FoodAQ@Com
