Why are modern animal farms legal?!

Question: Why are modern animal farms legal!?
My dad does plumbing work at some of those farms and I went with him and saw the animals a couple of times!.
I thought people weren't allowed to hurt animals like that!.
Aren't there like animal rights people who bust people for that!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm not a vegetarian, but I definately don't agree with the way they abuse and torture the animals far before they are even killed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You most likely live in a so-called "democracy"!.

If most people don't care about how animals are raised, no one will do anything!.

If 90% of the people of the US thought that black people were just animals, it would be legal to torture, rape or kill them as well!.

This is how "democracy" tends to work!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Factory farming is a lucrative business, and the higher-ups who create the laws which regulate animal agriculture are also making money off it's profits!.
