Vegetarian dinner party?!

Question: Vegetarian dinner party!?
I'm hosting a sophisticated dinner party for 4 vegetarians on Sunday night (so that will be 5 people including me)!.

Any ideas for a 3 course menu!?

I don't need the recipes - just the ideas for the 3 courses!.

Many thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Starter tomato and basil!. Just your basic halved toms, drizzled with olive oil, sprinkled fresh chopped basil and seasoned!.
Then stuffed pepper boats served with mushroom and green pea rice!.
And a good old peach flan or something for pudding!.
Job done!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

"Don't bother; its wrong that vegetarians don't eat meat!.
If the whole world went veggie millions would starve!."

what a false statement!.!.!.

okay, well i'm a vegan and i'm assuming that you're a descent cook if you're hosting a dinner party, so you should probably make tofu (which they will think is very considerate of you, because you would have had to take in the fact that they are vegetarians, and it actually isn't even that hard to make) but you can pretty much have anything else since that replaces the meat portion of the meal, so like pasta, salad, potatoes (no gravy), anything really,
vegetarians aren't that hard to cook for

ps!. there are so many different tofu recipes, like asian, mexican, anything, uhhhh let me think of the brand i get!.!.!. uhh i think it's called nasoya!.!. but if you type "nasoya tofu recipes" into google a website will come up and it's really convenient and it asks you what type of dish you want to make and everythingWww@FoodAQ@Com

There's a recipe for stuffed mushrooms in "Garden of Vegan" by Sarah Kramer and Tanya Barnard--it's really good!. Or you can make the Oy Vey Mock Chopped Liver from their "How it All Vegan!" and serve with rice crackers!.

There's a really lovely recipe for Maple-Pecan Tempeh in "Enemy of the Steak" (I forget the authors right now)!. I use walnuts instead of pecans!. You can serve that with baked potatoes or a rice pilaf!. also saute some kale, dry roast some pine nuts, and drizzle some lemon juice on the kale and pine nuts!. There's a recipe for healthy kale on www!.vegweb!.com

Then for dessert, make some cupcakes from Isa Chandra Moskowitz's "Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World!." I love the Chocolate Cherry ones!. It's chocolate cupcakes with a cherry filling and vegan buttercream!. Another good cupcake are Pumpkin Chocolate Chip!. It calls for a cinnamon glaze, but it's just as good without it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

To matthew B,millions of people arent eating meat and still alive!.!.!.there you go!.

Ok back to the subject :D

To start with maybe some soup, miso soup for an asian inspired menu!.

for main try a stirfry with your favourite flavour like garlic and sweetsoy and mixed with lots of hokkien noodles and tofu!.

for dessert make some coffee muffins or chocolate cakeWww@FoodAQ@Com

Roasted garlic mushrooms to start (use the really big flat mushrooms) with some lovely bread to soak up the juices

Vegetable curry with side dishes for main (you can find loads of gorgeous Indian veggie recipes as it is a way of life there)

Something disgusting and chocolatey for dessertWww@FoodAQ@Com

i agree matt b!. lots would starve especially in places such as alaska where it is more difficult to grow crops!. besides the medteranean people are practiclally the healthiest in the world and they EAT FISH! and people from the country of georgia eat yogurt and live to be like 100!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

1!.broiled tofu with walnut and miso sauce
2!.roasted bell pepper , bulgur and mesclun salad with olive oil and touch of balsamic vinegar!.
3!.porcini mushrooms and leek risotto!.enjoy your dinner!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

starter :Samosas with red chilli sauce or mint sauce

Main course:Mixed vegetable curry served with pitta Bread!.
Vegatables including Carrots, potatoes, peas cauliflower!.

Dessert: Rice Pudding with raisons,

or
