Why are there meat eaters hanging out in V&V?!

Question: Why are there meat eaters hanging out in V&V!?
Ive only recently starting "hanging out" in the V&V section!. But there seems to be alot of meat eaters hanging out, handing out their unwanted opinions!. Am I the only one who finds this annoying!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
People often have the need to have their personal beliefs to be the "correct way of life" and therefore impose them onto others!. It's the same way with people from different religions!.

I don't find it annoying that meat eaters want to comment here, BUT i do have a problem with offensive comments - the same goes for vegetarians/vegans who say offensive things to meat eaters!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a meat eater and occasionally hang out in Vand V section to find recipes and advice about vegan or vegetarian dishes because I do love my veggies but usually find anti meat preaching so I stopped checking!. I find it hilariaous that both meat eaters and vegan/vegetarians feel the need to preach/ hand out unwanted opinions, etc when who the heck cares!? To each his own, I say!. If you want to eat veggies and never touch a steak, good for you!. It doesn't bother me one bit but don't tell me your way is better and I won't tell you my way is better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No!. You're not the only one ---

As a professional pool player, I enjoy answering questions in the "Snooker and Pool" category ---clearly listed in "Sports"!. There are waaaaaaay too many questions there, asking about swimming pool care and filter problems!. It's VERY annoying!.

You are not alone, I assure you!Www@FoodAQ@Com

This is an open forum!.!. The heading Vegetarian & Vegan is a guide not a restriction!. In fact, Yahoo!Answers staff themselves make this clear by posting new questions in the main page first regardless of the subjuect so that all users can answer should they choose to!.

An unwanted opinion is an opinion nevertheless and people are allowed and in fact given the right to express them with or without your approval!. If you have an issue wth a particular question or answer, you can respond or use the infamous "thumb up or thumb down" buttons to express your approval or displeasure!. Or if you really see the need, use the "report abuse" tab!. But frankly, I find indulging in such actions petty and a childish tantrum and except for certain exceptions, totally unecessary!.

If I were a vegetarian or a vegan, I'd appreciate a dissenting opinion more than one that just validates what I already know!.
And many non-vegetarians are very knolwedgable about general nutrition, health and more!. Education comes from many sources, and often from the most unlikely of sources!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

"Meat eater" does not equal "troll" and lots of the meat eaters who are regulars here offer something constructive to the discussion!.

Trolls, on the other hand, hang out here for the same reasons they hang out anywhere: they get some perverse enjoyment out of bothering people online!. In person and without the anonymity of the internet, most of these people would keep their ignorant opinions to themselves, but here (or on any other discussion forum) they can say whatever they want!. It tends to increase when school's out because trolling is a vice of the immature!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Meat-eaters have a vital role here!. Why not !? They have lots of experience to offer and questions to ask!.

I'd much rather see a decent, thought out meaty question than a "I'm a veggie, are you !?" question!.

I think you are meaning "trolls" but your headline question don't make that clear

This is supposed to be a knowledge based Q&A forum, so if we wanted to weed out inappropriate questions, we'd be getting rid of 90% of themWww@FoodAQ@Com

I dont' hang out there too often!. But I do put in my two cents if that's what they are asking for!. They are an absolute target for me if they have a line like "Why hasn't the whole world become vegitarian!?"!. If they are asking for a veg recipe, it's one thing- if they are complaining because animals shouldn't be eaten, it's another!. I am all for purely just becoming vegitarian to eat better!. But if the only reason is that you feel bad for the animals then I might just get reported for answering a question like that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I was an occassional meat eater until recently!. Hanging out in this section has made me realise that I can elliminate meat from my diet without jepordising my health!. (which is the only reason I became veg)
I was always fond of veg dishes and got some great ideas and recipes here before I ever stopped eating meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I post here (don't know how I got started) because I discovered there is so much erroneous and clearly biased "information" about farming spewed here on a daily basis!. I feel like I need to put some sanity back in the discussion, although it usually just results in a bunch of thumbs down from people who don't like dissenting opinions or facts counter to their arguments!.

Why are vegans so closed minded!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

For the same reasons that atheists hang out in Religion & Spirituality!. Either they are antagonizing and trying to stir up trouble, are genuinely trying to help, they are interested in the lifestyle, or are here by mistake when our questions post to the general Food & Drink board!.
I think that most of them are just curious, and the V & V is a very active forum compared to many others on this site!. Of course there are many others who come here to poke fun at us and call us names (nothing we haven't heard before) and you'll get used to ignoring those people!.
Welcome =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Trust me, I am just as annoyed!. Most of them are just trying to make all the vegans/vegetarians go back to eating meat for some absurd reason!. I have no clue why they do it, but I think most of them do it just to rant!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Asking and answering questions regarding V & V issues!.

What are all of those humans doing in the cat section!?!?!?!?

EDIT: Nice job cutting and pasting the wrong answer!.!.!.!.LMAO!

That's even funnier you came back and fixed it!.!.!.LMAO X 2!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because the trolls are lonely, have no lives and get some form of pleasure from it!. Just ignore them and try to be happy that these poor people have found some happiness in their pathetic lives!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just turn on your toll filter and ignore them!. Block, thumb down, and/or report!. There are lots of great users here too, don't let the trolls get ya down or bother you, they're troubled losers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They still know vegetarians / vegans are physically harmless (statistically proven), and ethically prestigious!. (It just some point of time the disputes and "difference" among us are resolved, productively)Www@FoodAQ@Com

V&V questions show up in the general area too!. So it does attract others to answer!.
But it can be annoying I just skip those who seem to be rabble rousing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Asking and answering questions regarding V & V issues!.

What are all of those humans doing in the cat section!?!?!?!?

I'm a legend in my own mind!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Dont know!.
I`m a non-red meat eater and hope to be a full Vegetarian soon!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is easy enough to ignore the questions and answers if you do not like them!. This is after all a free and open forum!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

we can coming here when ever we feel like it you cant stop use!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Thank God, it's still a free country, and we all have our opinions whether based on fact or fallacy!. I am a meat eater by choice, but have a beloved daughter and best friend who is a vegetarian by choice and cook for her with no hesitancy!. I respect her choice as well as the choices made by all of you!.

I have been to the V&V section only a few times when a question pops up in "General" that relates to something I have experienced before and think I can give advice to the poster!.

I've read enough to know that the people in V&V regularly ask for a lot they get from hecklers!. In this thread alone, someone casually mentions that this way of eating is "ethically prestigious!." By whose standards!? Remarks like that are going to bring out the worst in anyone!.!.!.and I don't care who you are or what you eat!.

If you want to get rid of hecklers, I would advise you to forget the superiority routine!. You made a choice!.!.!.they made a choice!.!.!.and that's all there is to it!. The whole controversy is ridiculous and childish!.

God provides both animal, fish and vegetables for the sustenance of mankind!. Everyone has a choice, and whatever that choice may be, none are "ethically prestigious!."Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's a public forum!. I come in here for the entertainment, and to remind the vegetarians of their hypocrisy!. The entertainment is never ending, usually the 13 year old girl that can't buy her own animal free soap, or the 15 year old that saw a movie but mommy and daddy won't let her become a vegetarian!. The best ones, however, are the loonies amongst you that claim that animals have hopes and dreams, even goals!. I actually spat coffee out my nose one night reading that!. That kind of free entertainment is priceless!. The cruelty free eggs was a pretty good one too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I couldnt agree with you more!. I just answered a question, and it was clearly for vegetarians, and a meat eater give their opinion!.!.!.its really sort of a harassment of sorts isnt it!? Perhaps they have nothing better to do with their time than to bother peaceful people who have enough empathy to realize that animals have feelings and rights, and we as vegetarians choose not to eat a murdered animal!. Or, it could be that they feel guilty!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because they have no life I guess!. It's funny though that you always see the same three! Seriously, get a hobby people!Www@FoodAQ@Com
