Answers:
No there is no animal in this or any kosher salt!. Weird that I know this and am not Jewish!. Something kosher means the way it is prepared, and in jewish tradition, meat can't have blood or cooked in blood!. You know how fresh butcher meat is bloody and you just slap it on the grill!? Big no no!. Sprinkle kosher salt on meat, and it pulls away moisture, including blood!. Thank you, Alton Brown!. I would prefer you buy other kind of kosher salt, not Morton's!. It's like 90% or not completely kosher salt, not sure!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

'kosher' has nothing to do with foods containing pig products!. 'kosher' refers to foods that have been prepared under with the supervision of a rabbi who verifies that no jewish laws were broken in the preparation of the food (both raw or cooked)!. Kosher salt is approved for use by people who 'keep kosher', who follow jewish dietary laws!. kosher salt is much milder tasting than iodized salt , and is coarser, but still melts into hot food!. It is preferred by professional chefs and knowledgable cooks!. 'kosher' food products all have a symbol on them that shows they are approved for consumption by jews who keep kosher!.

Different kosher salts have different levels of salinity!. Diamond kosher salt is milder (and I prefer it) than Morton!.

try kosher salt and you will see how it doesn't have that harsh acrid flavor of iodized salt (regular table salt)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Salt is a cemical not a vegetable or animal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Salt is NaCl - Sodium and Chloride - there is no animal involvement at all!.
