if they are from a battery farm, then no they are not,but if they are free range eggs then there is a good chance that they areWww@FoodAQ@Com

The eggs we eat are not fertilized!. In other words, no baby chick is being formed in the egg!. What remains are nutrients such as proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals!. People have collected and eaten eggs for thousands of years!. Most of the eggs people eat now come from domesticated birds such as chickens!. Eggs come in different sizes, colors, and grades!. People in countries all over the world eat eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

NO, eggs that we eat are not fertilised, a rooster is not needed for a hen to lay an egg! Roosters are only needed in order for the egg to be FERTILIZED (to have a baby)!. Hens lay eggs with or without a rooster around!.

Most vegetarians only eat free range eggs so the chickens are not kept in poor conditionsWww@FoodAQ@Com

there are lots of reasons to be a veggie and some of them are more sentimental to animal rights than others and some are more idealistic than others,

i believe veggies who eat eggs have come to terms with the chickens plight, or make a point of using eggs from happier chickens!.

those who dont agree for whatever reason with egg eating probably dont eat eggs, or at least try not to !.!.

so dont generalise a complex subject!.:)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Battery hens have no access to a cockerel but ones in a free-range setting might, especially if you buy your eggs from a farm!. I have some hens and never encounter any problems with fertilised eggs as they are collected daily!. Can I say though that chicks are the cutest things ever as occasionally my hens go broody somewhere secret and I get a little hen family!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

that chicken egg would have never existed without humans!.

and non humans don't have a will to speak of!.

they have something called instinct!. this instinct only makes them think about how to survive!. and on a survival point of view!. domesticated animals have scored a home run!. they just eat and sleep reproduce then provide food for another animal when they die!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The hens that lay eggs for you to eat don't have a boyfriend, so there eggs are just the food that would of fed the baby chick if it had been fertal!. I love egg and cheese omlits :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Dude, i don't know what to say to you people, People in Africa don't have a n y t h i n g to eat and you people are bickering about the state of mind of your food!. You people sicken me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you need the cockerel to fertilise the egg!.!.so it is an unfertilised egg!.!.think of them as our ovulation!.!.bet that's got you in the mood for them!Www@FoodAQ@Com

you're so right, but i guess most vegetarians just don't want to eat 'meat' but don't think about the welfare of the animal if they are eating their eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The ones in supermarkets are not fertilized and there is no embryo!. I don't have to explain anything to you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no they are not!. it is not very practical to not use any animal products at all!. that is why so few people do it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

not the ones we buy to eat or there'd be wee chicks in the middle!.hens need cockrels to make babies, but lay eggs with or without them, luckily cause i love fried egg on toast yummy!Www@FoodAQ@Com
