It's not actually!.!.!.if you watched that 30 reasons to be a vegetarian video from peta!.!.!.you won't look at meat the same!.
There are also meat substitutes out there!. Like the Morning Star Farms brand!. I had their mini veggie corn dogs!.!.!.it tastes and looks like corn dog!.!.!.you'd barlely noice the difference!.
In fact I think this site will help you very much!.

It's really not that hard!.!.!.your family may try to make it hard, but you can't give in!.
I ate meat for almost 17 years (not quite I quit a couple months before my birthday in May) and I don't miss meat a bit!. There are plenty of site to help you to!. Here's some!.

You may also want to do your research on vegetarian cheese!.
Non vegetarian cheese is made from animal rennet from a slaughtered calfs stomache!. That's what I've heard anyways but look it up!. It can be done!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Honestly, it's incredibly difficult for MAYBE the first few weeks!. You keep forgetting, and wanting to pick up something, or you smell something being cooked and want to eat it!.!.!. It gets easier very quickly, though!. Personally, I still occasionally get a whiff of something meat-wise and get a little drooly, but I don't have even the slightest real urge to eat it!.

BTW, I've been a vegetarian for nearing 7 years!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

really once you get your mind set its not that hard and honestly your gonna have to learn to ignore what people say!. but don't let the vegans get to you, calves milk and the milk you and I drink is much different, and the cow will be left to nurse her calf during that time!. even tho the eggs still bother me its a good source of protein!. Mmmm well just make sure you don't replace meat with sugary fat foods and don't forget why you became a vegetarian!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

baby steps

i decided to go veg june 11th because i looked up some stuff on youtube

the first few days are the hardest, but then it gets alot easier

i would suggest going full out vegetarian, it is the best, cut out meat a bit at a time so you dont get headaches like i didWww@FoodAQ@Com

I used to eat meat 2-3 times a day, but decided I couldn't do it, so I went veg cold turkey!. Same with veganism!. I really don't think it's hard!. If videos of animals made you cry, think about that the next time you want meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not if you are really as torn up about the animals' treatment in the factories!. A vegetarian who is one for ethical reasons turns to those values in the face of inconvenience and temptation!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm guessing you're about 14!. You will not change the bovine or fowl industries by not eating meat in fact by you will (when you become a consumer) cause more problems for the American Job Homefront by refusing to purchase American Made products which includes meat!. You can however purchase meat and meat products from local farmers who are part of the Humane Farming Association!. Don't cause unemployment simply because you failed to do your part!. If you are horrified by the images you saw write your congress person asking them to improve on the regulations in the processing plants!. I buy all my meat from local vendors at the farmers market, I know where my money goes and what it supports!.
(Let the thumbs down begin!)Www@FoodAQ@Com

i'll be honest with you, about 4 years ago i saw a documentary on factory farming and decided at that exact second i will be a vegetarian!. i woke up the next morning changed and never thought twice about it!. i have never, not once been tempted by the sight, smell or thought of meat!. it was strangely easy for me!.
2 years on i decided to become a vegan!. i struggled with this and was on and off for a long time!. i didn't approach it the right way and i know when i go vegan again i will do it slowly and not cold turkey!.
all i'm saying is that it's different for everyone!. just take everyday as it comes and keep your goal in your mind!. it's not easy to change your whole lifestyle over night, and you shouldn't be expected to!.
best of luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Whats Ovo-Lacto!?

I assume that means you want to steal from nursing mothers their offsprings nourishment!? And you are willing to eat chicken fetuses!?

How enlightened of you!.

You are a living being!. Unfortunately, its either eat lower life or die!. Those are your options!. Life suffers and dies at the benefit of others!. Thats how it is!. The question is how humane you want to be!? Violent slaughterers you should avoid!.!.!. but meat in itself, not so much!.

A human being is meant to eat both animal and plant!. That is how our body is designed and how our species evolved!. To get all the nutrition your body needs, you really should eat both!.

Granted!.!.!. its possible, albeit relatively difficult, to get all the nutrition you need living on just plants!. But you can just as easily do it living on animals!. Its about eating from multiple sources!.

The problem with a meat-only diet is that people eat just the muscle!. To get all the nourishment you need, you should eat the skin, organs, bones, etc!.!.!. balanced diet right there!. But no one does that!. People instead eat just muscle!.!.!. animal muscle is made out of the same stuff human muscle is!.!.!. and so you get only what muscle contains, depriving yourself of everything a whole body needs!.

I always wonder how strict vegetarians justify killing innocent plant-life

They have made up all these ridiculous terms to distinguish one kind of vegetarian from another!. Eating dairy, nothing has to die!. But just eating fish as meat!? Someone still dies!. Just eating poultry!? Arbitrary distinction!. "Its okay to eat this animal and not that animal, because I like that animal!.!.!. it looks fluffy so its cute and therefore a superior species!."Www@FoodAQ@Com

i went cold turkey when i went veghead, for me it was extremely easy you just need to remember why you are doing it, im vegan now and hopefully if vegetarianism goes well for you, youll consider veganism one day!.
staple food items youll want are:soy milk, beans, applesauce, bread, peanut butter, mock meats

buying mock meats help alot at the beginning, they arent the healthiest though(better than regular meat though)

make sure you know you CANNOT eat products containing gelitan a few examples are:marshamallows, starburst, skittles, jello, poptart frosting, gummy candies

you can definitely do it, going to a dietation(cant spell) would probably put all your parents worries at ease, congrats on going vegetarian! :DWww@FoodAQ@Com

thats a great choice!. i myself am highly allergic and eat mostly vegan based stuff!. it is going to be hard though!. maybe you want to start off slow, eating things without meat first, then moving on to things cooked without animal parts for flavor!. i know that some whole food stores or special supermarkets offer vegan foods!. once you get used to it, it won't be so hard!. it will also be a plus if you can cook!. just remember the poor little animals and it wont be so hard!. im not saying it will be easy, but for the most part, you can do it, its better for your health too!. good luck! (hope ur family will get to respect what you believe in)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm so happy for you! I personaly did it "cold turkey" (excuse the expression), but you CAN eliminate one item at a time!. If you need support, try joining a vegetarian forum!.
