Should I go to eating Only meat? Being that farming is the single cruelest act of humanity?!

Question: Should I go to eating Only meat!? Being that farming is the single cruelest act of humanity!?
Will we leave any wilderness!? or will it all become corn crops!? Where then will brothers Coyote, Bear, Mountain Lion and Wolf live!?
Do we really want to continue to place ourselves above the Circle of Life!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Tahuti, the problem is NOT farming, nor is it livestock husbandry!. The problem is unrestrained human population growth!. The reasons for that seem to be varied but one sure reason is that "certain religions" prohibit the use of contraception as a means of populatin control!. It seems that they take the words of a certainlittle black book literally and see the passage "be fruitful and multiply and cover the Earth" as being just that!. Cover the Earth like a plague of locusts!. They misunderstood their God when he said to go forth!. What Their God MEANT was "SPREAD OUT! Don't all congregate in one place!." The "cover the EArth" concept is fine up to a point but we have exceeded that point many times over!. The ability of the Earth to FEED those billions of humans has put those very humans in conflict with the Natural World!. It has come down to "feed people OR feed animals but we can't do both!." So, animals have to go in order for humans to eat!. And still, the humans are adding to their population and covering the Earth!. Soon humans will have covered the Earth to the point that farmland is going to have to disappear to make room for more humans!. At that point the onlything left is for humans to eat each other!.

Perhaps we should begin doing that right now!. I'd suggest that we begin with the NON-productive elements of society, those in charge!. ALL they do is sit in offices and devise ways to keep the REST of us busy at meaningless tasks!. Eat them first!. But there isn't enough Bosses in the world to supply the demand for food and that resource will be exhausted in a few days, so then we move onto Government officials, There are enough to last us for a few weeks!. After that I suggest we begin to eat the Religious leaders, there seems to be a surplus of them any way!. That should get us by for a few more weeks!. Then we start on those who are better off than the rest of us, all they do is make money and don't really contribute anything to the population's welfare!. After we've eaten all those there will be enough land available for growing food as it is THEY who buy up the large tracts of land and make it innaccessible to everyone else!. At that point the problem is solved and attrition can take care of the rest!. also there won't be anyone todidctate the concepts of "No contraception" and the rest of the population will be albe to use conception and the population will decrease and be controlled to sustainable levels!. Problem solved!.

Eat the Rich!

Unless you plan on hunting your meat, and limiting your hunting adventures to non-endangered species that are abundant, you won't be helping!. Farm animals eat a lot of grain because grain is more convenient and cheaper than feeding them grass!. The corn comes from the same corn fields that produce corn for ethanol, corn syrup, and the likes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i think the flaw in your plan is that meat usually comes from farms too!. Cattle and sheep farms are on large areas of land which have been cleared away!. You can't really avoid eating something that hasn't been grown/lived on land that should be wilderness, unless you grow your own, but then technically your house is one land that was once wild too!. You can't really win! While its awful and animals are being pushed off land, i don't see anything changing anytime soon :(Www@FoodAQ@Com

Meat from where!?

There is no comparing hunting animals for meat and buying meat from a store!. "Farmed" meat is responsible for the space in which they are raised and for even more crop space than vegetarians!.

Human beings cannot live on a strictly carnivorous diet, it is not possible nutritionally in the long term!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Do you know that most of the corn crops being grown are for farm animals!? So you eating more meat means more animals have to die and more land has to be taken away from the wild animals to grow that corn!. I think the way you are thinking is flawed!. And farming for vegetables is FAR less cruel than factory farms which take up A LOT of land!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Wow, I never thought a question would lure me into this section, but congrats - this one I can't resist!. :)

I think you could make a much better case for strip malls being a bigger blight upon our landscape!. After all, we could all order our clothing and music online!. Or we could go to navy blue jumpsuits and cut down on warehouse storage considerably more!. Maybe a two color option for those of us that really care about such things!.

Back to the point - go ahead and go meat only!. Everyone has their passionate beliefs!. I think you'll find within a few months that the cruelty you've inflicted upon your digestive system far exceeds any cruelty farms inflict upon our wildlife friends!. And I don't think a bottle of Metamucil will be enough to rectify your situation!. A balanced diet is far healthier than one that excludes any food group and going meat only is probably going to lead to a whole host of nutritional deficiencies as well as a likely early death!. I really don't recommend this plan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Farming is more cruel than child abuse!? Or systematic torture of humans!? Or genocide!?

You must live in a much more peaceful world than I do!.

And the many native american Indian tribes hunted and killed animals with spears!. Is that less cruel than an axe!?

Maybe you could change to eating only Kosher meats!. Those animals are slaughtered under the auspices of a rabbi!. Is that less cruel!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

love and do what you will, YOU WILL!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Um, I'm sorry, but consuming meat takes up WAY more resources and land space than eating vegetarian or vegan!. Raising animals to eat takes up about 10 times as much water as raising crops, plus many many water resources are polluted to the point of being unusable, or dangerous to the wildlife, because of meat-farming pollution!. It seems pretty contradictory to say "I'm only going to eat meat because I'm worried about the animals"!. You come off as simply being facetious!.

Do you not consider humans to be part of the circle of life!? We have to eat too, and the best way to eat with the least harm, in my opinion, is on a vegan, organic (no pesticides, herbicides, etc) diet!. I live in Ontario - most of the corn fields here are not meant for human consumption!. If you used those fields, and the areas used to raise animals, for (human) food crops, the continued destruction of the environment for farmer's fields may be unnecessary!. Not to mention, in my particular area, farmer's crops are not what is destroying the environment - the environment (AND farmer's fields!!) are being turned into expensive, space consuming homes for rich suburban families!.

If you want to advocate against human expansion, and the destruction of the environment, work towards core redevelopment in your area, eat LESS or NO meat, and make sure you are doing your part to reduce your personal imprint, such as recycling and tree-planting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
