About being hungry!.!.!.
Eat more! I know that sounds simple, but some people switch to lower calorie foods when they become vegetarians and they actually need to eat more food to get the same amount of calories per day!. If you are hungry, eat!.
About good foods to eat!.!.!.
While they may not be the healthiest choices, some of my favorites include pizza (veggie toppings), bean & cheese nachos, peanut butter & jelly sammiches, chips and homemade guacamole dip, veggie burgers, pasta with olive oil & garlic, grilled cheese sammiches, falafel, vegetable fried rice, and veggie quesadillas!. also, Italian, Asian, and Mexican restaurants usually have a lot of vegetarian options!.
About fighting meat cravings!.!.!.
If you go long enough without something, you won't crave it anymore!. After about a week of being a vegetarian I wasn't really craving anything I didn't want to eat!. It gets much easier as time goes on and you get settled into a routine!. It doesn't have to be all or nothing when you first start!. I slowly became a vegetarian by cutting out beef one week, then pork the next, etc!., etc!. until I was a vegetarian!.
Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think you need to eat something that have the taste of meat!. I would suggest you cook vegan sloppy joes!. I have the easiest recipe and I always eat this almost everyday when I have the time to cook!. This is very very easy!

? 1/2 medium green bell pepper, coarsely chopped
? 3/8 cup water
? 4 ounces can tomato sauce
? 1/4 tbsp chili powder (more to taste)
? ? tbsp other available spices (depends on your taste)

Lightlife and Boca make great stuff!. Same for Amy's!. (these guys are great if you are hesitant about tofu)
For fighting meat cravings, first: when you think hamburger, think cow (better yet, dead cow), when you think pork, think pig (again, dead pig) and so on!. This is especially great if you have met a few in your life!. Think of the source of your food and of the suffering it took to get to your plate!.
Second: fix your self up some great vegetarian food! vegweb!.com has great recipes and the companies I already mentioned can often be found in decent sized supermarkets (I'm not sure how big a town you live in)!.
Then there are always fresh fruit and veggies! No prep required and they are great for you (need to balance out all the vegetarian junk food !.!.!. lol)!
As for Tofu, if you haven't tried it yet, Asian food places generally make it best!
P!.S: When you're hungry, eat! Vegetarian and vegan food has generally fewer calories and fat, so eating more of it may be necessary!. Eating higher calorie foods and foods with starch or fiber should help (for example: grains)!. Good luck, and if you need more help you are welcome to email me!
EDIT: I forgot Morning Star! also: if you are craving a "pork flavor" or your beans are a bit bland, try liquid smoke! It has a baconish flavor (because it's smokey), but it's realy just the hicory flavoring and it's vegetarian (I'd still check the back to be sure)!. You can just pour a little in your beans, and instant bacon flavor (without the pig!) ! Smart Bacon (from light life) I believe uses liquid smoke to make their fo-bacon (which is great by the way !.!.!. yum)!. Actualy, (come to think of it) many Fudrucker's (again !.!.!. not sure if you have thouse where you live) serve veggie burgers!
Another thing: making sure you are getting all your vitamins may also help with cravings (sort of like being pregnant !.!.!. lol !.!.!.) Well, I think that's it for the moment !.!.!. (i hope)Www@FoodAQ@Com

BBQ some whole portobello mushrooms (brush with olive oil, sprinkle with garlic salt & oregano); Put those onto a hamburger bun with lettuce, tomato, onions & sliced avocado!. They have a "meat" flavor, and you'll feel like you're eating a hamburger:) !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Baked potatoes will fill you up when you're hungryWww@FoodAQ@Com
Foods rich in protein and fiber=
Oatmeal
Legumes (beans, lentils, chickpeas, etc)
Quinoa
Tempeh & Tofu (just try it!.!.!.I never thought I would like it, but I'm sitting here eating dinner, an yes!.!.!.theres tofu in it)
Peanut butter
Whole wheat bread
(Only downfall on potatoes in that they are full of starch, which is turned into sugar in your body!. Your body digests the sugar more quickly, leaving you hungry not long after)Www@FoodAQ@Com

The number one cause of this is too little fat!. When ever you have cravings, eat a couple of spoonfuls of peanut butter, or a sliced avocado on some crackers!.
also helpful are some of the higher fat meat analog products, like Morningstar Farms Grillers Prime burgers!. Cook them in a skillet with some olive oil, and serve on a toasted roll with lettuce, tomato and mayo!. You won't believe how good they are!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Congrats on your choice!
A good detox will help!.
Detox tea is a great starter, It's gentle and easy!.
What has helped me in the past is Morning Star or Boca burgers!.
They have a similar texture to meat so it can trick you into thinking your having a real burger!.
Taking iron and b supplements help with cravings!.
Most importantly, know that you can do it!
I wish you great success in your new diet!Www@FoodAQ@Com
