Vegetarian Recipe.?!
I have a dinner party planned and one of the guests is vegetarian!. I thought of making something with Quorn but am unsure what it is or what to do with it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not-Meatballs
Ingredients:
2 cups TVP granules (vegetarian ground beef)
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp chilli powder
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 tsp oregano
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp tamari sauce (or soy sauce)
1 cup vegetable stock
? cup of tomato juice
? cup of flour
Fry TVP, onion, garlic, chilli, oregano, salt and tamari together until browned!.
Combine stock and tomato juice and bring to the boil!.
Add the boiling liquid to the frypan, turn off heat and let stand for 15 minutes!.
Add 1/2 cup flour and mix well!.
Shape into small balls, pressing them together firmly!.
Fry in oil or bake them in the oven (180C) until lightly browned!.
Serve with spaghetti and tomato based pasta sauce!.

Finally, I'd just like to say it's really nice to see someone making an effort to make something for a vegetarian guest!. Too often we're left with boiled potatoes and steamed carrots while everyone else is eating a gourmet meal!. Your thoughtfulness will be greatfully appreciated!

Quorn is the brand name of a premium line of all-natural, meat-free frozen foods!. The Quorn brand has been sold in the UK since 1985, and since that time has become the #1 retail brand of meat-free foods in the world! You can depend on Quorn products to always be meat-free and soy-free!.
The principle ingredient in all Quorn products is mycoprotein (“myco” is Greek for “fungi”)!. The mycoprotein comes from Fusarium venenatum, which was originally discovered growing in a field in Buckinghamshire, England!.

? 1 large onion, diced

? 4 tsp!. red pesto
? 1/4 cup tomato puree
? 14 oz!. canned chopped tomatoes
? 2/3 cup red wine
? Salt and ground black pepper
? 1 lb!. Spaghetti, cooked
? 2/3 cup water
1!. Heat the oil in a large saucepan!.
2!. Add the onion and crushed garlic and sauté for 4 - 5 mins until soft!.
3!. Add the Quorn Grounds and dried herbs and sauté for a further 2-3 mins or until lightly browned!.
4!. Add the pesto, tomato puree, chopped tomatoes and red wine and water!.
5!. Season, bring to boil then simmer, uncovered, for about 20 mins or until cooked through!.

It would be easier to narrow this down if we knew more such as the type of party, is there a theme, a certain cuisine (French, Asian, Mexican!.!.!.), do you want food everyone can eat or just the one in solitary, what are your skills, do you want ready-made, mostly ready, or to cook from scratch!?
I personally don't care for soy, cilantro or mushrooms so you might find out if there's anything your particular veg-person doesn't like!.

Make a big spaghetti dinner!. Just use store bought sauce like roasted garlic or herb or something and by a nice long loaf of french bread or garlic bread and serve a salad, fancy and delicious!.
If your omnivore guests really need a meat in their meal, make to sauces for the spaghetti and just put them both in serving bowls on the table, that way it's not awkward for people with different diets!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
