A guide to being a Vegetarian?!

Question: A guide to being a Vegetarian!?
Does anyone know any good sources for Vegetarians who are just starting out!? Vegetarian websites!? Online Vegetarian Communities!? I'm giving up all meat, fish included!. Eggs are okay though!. also I have a quick question!. As a vegetarian, are you still allowed to eat meat broth!? Like, having chicken ramen!? Is that okay!? Or if mom bakes chicken, can I still use the broth to season my rice!?

I guess, to answer my second question, you have to know why I'm becoming a vegetarian!. I simply am trying to be earth friendly!. Did you know that there are no cows in the natural habitat in America!? They are bread primarily for food!. I don't like that!. I don't like how humans only use animals as a resource and only care about the animal once they are on the brink of extinction!. I'm not putting animals before humans!. But I feel that humans have a responsibility to live with animals!. Not just use them!. I'm taking other steps toward being Green too but right now, I'm focused on this!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

**ALLOWED** to eat meat broth!?!?!?!?

Vegetarians are allowed to do whatever they want but they all CHOOSE not to eat food with juice or powder of dead animals!.

If you are against the way that animals are raised you will find good reason to avoid dairy and eggs as well!.

I recommend that you watch Earthlings for a thorough look at things!. http://video!.google!.com/videosearch!?q=ea!.!.!.

I knew that there were massive herds of bison which is mighty close to cows!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I became vegetarian a few months ago, and I'm still living at home!. I checked a book out from the library called "A Teen's Guide to Going Vegetarian" by Judy Krizmanic!. It was awesome!

You can also go to www!.vegetarianteen!.com--they have a wealth of information, and I found it really helpful when I started out!. They have forums and stuff, so it's sort of an online community!. There are about a zillion facebook/myspace vegetarian groups, and those are EXTREMELY helpful!.

Another great site is http://kidshealth!.org--they have a vegetarian section!.

As far as your questions about using broth products: Broth is derived from the animal after it has been slaughtered, unlike eggs and milk products, which are derived without killing!. If you want to be cruelty-free, then don't use the broth!.

You can find a lot of vegetarian/vegan broths and stuff at the store though--they use flavorings and soy derivatives, and it looks/smells/tastes just like broth--but it's made without killing anything!.

Hope this helps! Congratulations on becoming veg--it's one of the most friendly things you could ever do for yourself AND for the earth!. It's not easy, but it is definitely worth it, sister!. :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com
